    I'm in Love

So after looking at my budget and how much i could afford to finance i saw that i could go over 15k for a new car so the honda fit was out of the question. I set up a list of new cars that were in my budget and liked.
06 eclipse gs (gt is a gas guzzler)
    06 wrx
    06 rsx typej-s
    06 gti (vw)

so after looking into the eclipse i cut it out and realizing that the rsx would be everyone elses car i cut it as well so it was down to wrx and gti. I test drive a gti 6speed auo today and now im in love. the 200hp 207tq was put to the ground amazingly. The car accelerated so fast. 0-60 in 6.3 sec's. I want a standard 6 speed but this was just an idea of how the car accelerated and handled. The brakes took a little to get used to during the test drive since its the first 4wheel disc i have driven. I popped the hood and saw lots of tuning potention. The turbo is by the firewall and the piping is really small with no intercooler that i could see and no bov. The traction control makes turning and handling awesome. Im gonna drive the 06 wrx tomarrow and we'll see but i think the gti is the one for me...!!

Go for the WRX dude, my friend just got one about a month ago and it's defenetly worth the money, the GTI's are okay but they still lack power, just my $.02 :D

WRX's are nice but the insurance will kill you! Too many people have had accidents in them.

Once you go Euro, youll never go back.

Intercooler is side mount, on the left hand side near the wheel well.
06 Gtis can get pretty pricey though! Awesome to drive.

Get the GTI. If for no other reason, get it for the commercials. Oh yea and because it's sweet.

I've read the RSX will be done after 2006, but i'd still get it.
Mostly y its being discountinued because the new civic si has the same engine and almsot all the same features as the rsx-s but costs 3k less

i guess the rsx, but I woudn't really want to *buy any of them, they're all right almost at what I'd really want one step higher. i'd never want an eclipse though. but the Rsx is always a great choice, great record of performance and quality, and I guess the vw is nice

well i went and test drive the eclipse. one word------------slow. well another word---------small.

had no acceleration whatsoever and the interior was tiny. my fiance is 5'2 and she had a hard time fitting in to it. Im 6' and my head was about an inch from the ceiling and since the dealer guy was in the backseat my legs were sideways and crooked so they would fit under the dash that sticks into your chest. Overall a horrible car.
The sub dealership had no wrx's in stock so they will call me when they get some in.

That's interesting because I know a guy who's over 6 foot 300 pounds and he loves his new Eclipse. I think he was sold on the sound system - 650 watt rockford, 9 speakers +sub

im going to do an internship in my local Mitsubitschi/VW dealer. The gti looks awesome man, but wrx is something u should consider. The eclipse was really small in the inside, they GT had better quality interior than the normal eclipse.

    wow, thats acceleration.

I started looking for performance parts for the GTI and ive found a few for about 2,500 including install you can get a performance chip, turboback exhaust, and cleaner intake for the turbo which bumps hp all together to about 280 over stock 200, no actually torque ratings yet. 80 Hp for 2,500 is awesome in my opinion almost 150%

Im not sure what the ratings are for the chips on the new gtis, but the existing chips are putting out 45+ hp, and up to 100 ft torque. (450-500 bucks for program)
