Nice. I'd really like to see Toyota put that engine in the tC or the next Corolla XRS.

Edit: After checking the Toyota website, apparently the Rav4 only runs about $22k fully loaded... considering that includes a 269hp V6, I'm sure it's feasible price wise to throw that engine in the tC.

I hope you weren't holding the camera and driving at the same time. That's another no-no. What editing software did you use, anyway?

hmm sounds like what most 4 bangers sound like by just taking off the resonator pipes. after about a week you wont hear it anymore. I really wouldn't drive without any filter, even on the track....

i think it is the same engine in the tc... im not sure... but i dont like the throttle response on that engine... it has too much lag...

    01-03 RAV4 2.0L I-4, VVT-i, 148hp @6ooo RPM, 1AZ-FE <- this is what your mom has
    05-06 Scion tC 2.4L I-4, 2AZ-FE
    04-05 RAV4 2.4L I-4, 2AZ-FE
    2006 RAV4 V6 3.5L V6, 2GR-FE

We already had a thread in reference to a 2GRFE in a small late-model Celica. http://TRDforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6438&highlight=rav4

In the tC? Ninety Four mentioned it in both this thread and the thread above. Well, now, that'd be a cool swap to have!

Probably the same big difference as the 1zz and 2zz, the heads, among other things. You're navigating into unchartered territory. I don't know how many hardcore RAV4 forums and communities there are out in the internet, but I assume there've got to be some clusters of enthusiasts who know their stuff.

    EDIT: the Camry 02-current, Highlander 01-current, RAV4 04-current 2.4L models all have the 2AZ

Before the idea was just speculative... kind of a long shot request. Now that we know the car isn't pricey w/ the v6, putting that engine in other cars actually makes sense.
