    Buyer Beware: Phozenstone

i posted this on a earlier thread in offtopic but here goes again

I bought the 15 inch rims that he advertised in the sale thread. The 5zgen RX-6 rims. He said it was a 4x100 lug pattern and said it would fit my car. After he put it on ebay i said i'll buy it off him and he said he wanted a 120 deposit and then the other 400 when i pick it up from him. Well he brought the rims to the sema show in fort washington where i met up with him and picked them up gave him the money and left. After i got home i tried to put them on and i notice only one lug fits....

I'm like no way!!! on the back of each rim it says 5x100 and one says 4x100. i'm like hmm odd i only see 4 lugs. Well it is 4 lugs but a 4x114.3 pattern.... So i got majorly ripped by him and he won't return my calls or messages or anything!!!!!!!!! Now i'm screwed!

Yeah, when I brought my TRD rims off Phozenstone this past summer; one of the wheel was bent and one other rim had a problem with a weight issue(not bent). Also the tires were bald down to the indicators. I guess he calcaluted the treads by how by how much tread was left from the rubber I guess. One tire was just gone pretty much, the tread were way past the indicators.

I only found out about the bent wheel like 4 months later when I brought new tires. So I could of bent the wheels when I was driving in those 4 months which I highly doubt because I and careful about potholes and stuff. Besides I can't prove it or get my money back. heh. It is possible that Phozenstone did not know the rims were bent...so I gave him the benefit of doubt.

Well on the upside, I got them for a decent price and I don't feel the bent wheel yet so I didn't complain till I seen this post LOL.

Lesson learned: THERE IS A REASON WHY COROLLA MEMBERS NEVER BUY FROM OTHER MEMBERS! CUZ THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF! ;) LOL

I wouldn't go as far as to say that. First of all, there might be a misunderstanding that hasn't been solved. I've bought numerous items from corolla members and never once have they ripped me off. I'm talking about high value stuff too. I bought my full lip kit and lip spoiler from here as well as my injen intake. I also have done business with phoz in the past and never has he been dishonest with me. So i suggest you don't overgeneralized becuase I have lots of respect for the vvt-i community.

btw, i think it sucks that your rims didn't fit. hopefully something will be worked out between you two.

boy u betta get ur stories right cuz he aint buy nothin from me, so dont be makin up stories guy....

as far as the rims, this is the first time im lookin at this and made aware of the problem, i dont normally visit here until prodigy told me. well, here is my side....all the rims say 4x100 on the back and they are in fact 4 lugs, im not sure how they could be 4x114 because thats the way it came from 5zigen unless ur tryin to say i redrilled them somehow or relabled the wheels 4x100. i bought the rims from discounttiredirect the same time i bought my slipstreams just to see which i like better and i ended up goin wit hte slipstreams. Here is the link to the auction if you dont believe me....http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8042715843&category=43955

and here is the pics of the rims, the same way they came from discounttiredirect but i put on tires

so your telling us you never noticed that 3 out of 4 wheels were 5x100????...hmmmm... and only 1 was labeled 4x100......and chose to use the photo showing the correct pattern.....highly doubtful.....but hey it could happen... but I'm sure if you had caught on to it you would have sent them back to the ebay seller....

I think there is way too much heresay and finger pointing going on here... if anyone has a problem with Phozen, take it up over PM.

To those who have issues> It's not that we don't care, its that we don't want to be involved in this. In my personal opinion, it appears as tho all those wheels are as advertised - unless just one really is 4x100 and the rest are 4x114.3 (which is just completely wierd) (i recommend taking pictures of all four rims) As for the bent rim issue, unless you get your items checked out immediately after you recieve them, you should *NOT* be going around saying someone sold you a bum product if you cannot prove it. That's just completely absurd. If the wheels came with almost dead tread on them, you should have gotten them tired immediately - don't drive around on may-pops as its VERY easy to damage your wheels like that. I'm not saying anyone here is a liar or a thief, but what I am saying is take it up in private and try to resolve it there first. I'm not going to have threads running around that point fingers at people w/o hard evidence.

hey plu, i honesty didnt know anything about the wheels being bent, i can swear on the graves of all my generations on that. the Toyo Proxes FZ4 on the wheels were the same exact tires that came with them when it was brand new from TRD. so i never took the tires off and seen the bend, also if they were too dangerous to drive on, i wouldnt of sold them, but the tires were still ok i believe, they were still on my car when i sold them (remember the pics i took?) anywho, i do thank you for understanding the situation and u DID get them at a great price. :)

i'm gonna take some pics in a few days soon as i get a hold of a camera, but i measured the distance between the wholes and they are roughly 114 and i checked them online from someone else who is selling them and he stated 4x144.3

well yeah i agree. All I want to know is if he intentionally sold me 2 damaged rims. And I would say he is guilty of calculating the treads wrong. As in his case, 50% left = tread at indicator; when I think that when the tread is at the indicator it should be 0% left. I'm not gonna give him a bad feedback or anything. Just curious that's all.

ah.. it's all cool man. :)

oh shit... FZ4's those things come reading less than half tread, lol --- i switched to Proxes 4's because of the wear out time on those FZ's that and they didn't cruise worth a damn.

I loved those tires when wet, with my 3 speed auto I can just gas it like normal in a red light and it's wheel spin city! LOL

Until one day I took an exit ramp at 30 mph and I did a 180 on the ramp. I decide it was time to get some new tires :)

Oh and driving on the interstate above 55mph was just downright dangerous because you would be hydroplaning all over the place when other cars fly by you at 80mph hehe.
