there is this new thing going around forums now... its called a PM. Its pretty sweet you should check it out sometime. Saves an entire forum from having to read your conversation.

hint: if you have to use someones name in the title then PM them

a camry v6 might be a bit easier/smarter..... it's been done in mk2 mr2's, so it would probably fit in a corolla

& i just happen to know someone who has an entire swap he wants to sell.....

A friend of mine is planning a Camry V6 swap into his 6th Gen. Celica... very interesting... I hope it works! He has the 5 speed manual parts all sourced and the engine sourced and he's studying to become and electrical engineer so the wiring shouldn't be too bad for him...

when bill did the northstar he had to get rid of the trunk and completely reengineer the suspension

little did he think that the water lines in an mk1 were too small, and he blew a HG almost right after he got it running

wouldnt a 2zz (more common) be better then the rav4. I mean im not expert but i dont think there is a lot of aftermarket support out there for a rav4 engine.. but like i said im not really that sure.

Wow, name calling via an internet connection, how grow up.

If you put it out there for everyone then use a generalized heading. Something like "Dumb idea for a swap, what do u guys think? I will never ever do this swap in my life but I want to post about it". You titled it with someones name which tecnically nobody else should read but him, thats why it should be in a PM. Its called Forum Etiquette

If you knew anything you would know that pretty much anything is possible with enough money. Is the swap worth it?... no. Would I consider it?... no. But you didnt ask my opinion right, only Dr Tweaks.

    Keep it cool guys.
No need for the smartass comment. Last time I checked sarcasm was still allowed. :)

That is correct though. If you are going to title a post for one preson, it should be in a PM.
I would suggest changing the title to make it more of a general post.

He probaly wants the v6 from the rav4 cuz its 269 hp as compared to the 2zz's 180.
Probaly would be too much money for you to spend.

I agree. With that engine putting out the power it does, it's bound to have aftermarket support eventually. I want to see that enigne put in the tC!

This sounds to me somewhat to similar to the idea of putting my Iforce in a Corolla...is it possible? Yes...is it probably the amount of time and money invested into it? No...first thing you'd have to over-come is the fact that the 3.5 is probably pretty heavy compared to your the motor in the Celica...

You'd be better off just going with some boost.

at least for the camry v6's (and why a lot of mr2 owners do it) is that there is a TRD supercharger available for the motor.... and also some have done twin turbo's on them in mr2's as well.... believe it or not

You're better off from what I'm told to swap the 3S-GTE, from the Celica GT4, and turbocharging that. :) If power is what you want, you can get 500hp out of that engine. (I have a vid that CB sent me showing a 500hp corolla whooing the pants of an aston martin)

Remember the bigger the engine, the heavier.

Just to swap the 2zz into a corolla requires different axles.

Just think of the work you would have to do to swap in a v6...Beefed up suspension, probably custom, seeing that none of them were more than likely designed with the weight of a v6 in mind inside a corolla. :) (not sure, just playing devil's advocate here)

Yet you came into the thread and replied.
    And again, you replied!

C'mon people.....its a question that others may want to know the answer to. Maybe you should have PMed him telling him that he should have PMed Tweak, huh?

Its not like it was a question like "Hey man, you going to the meet on Saturday?"

You sure it's VCV10? Isn't it supposted to be something like MCV10 or so? I thought Toyota ALWAY name the chassis code with the engine series in the first 1-2 letters. If it's VCV, it should be using VZ serise engine, not MZ.

That would be why I said excluding the VCV10 chassis code. VCV10 doesn't have the 1MZ-FE.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around much, I'm actually in GA right now at a hotel computer while I finish my house-hunting. Anyway, JSPITZ, yes the swap is possible, it would be pretty expensive, I'm thinking somewhere in the area of $5000- $6000 all said and done. If you're interested then hit me up by email, drtweak@truboost.com
