That will be my next mod after I jack the corolla up into the air by about a 6+ inch lift. LOL

I'd give someone props for dropping 15k on those they're original and pretty cool if you ask me. Chrome rims were never cool from the get go IMO.

i think their bad ass. Lots of technology went into those. Now the rap that went along with the video was gay as hell but they obviously didnt spend lots of money on advertising.

One could also say that modding a Corolla is a waste of time and money. ;)

technology? yeah right. this is old school.

if youve ever seen those clocks at Brookstone at your local mall that wave a wand back and forth very quickly (i dont know the frequency at which it oscillates) and the wand is lined with led's. as the clock is waving left and right incredibly quickly, the clock senses the exact position/angle of the wand and lights up the corresponding leds. given the performance of today's transistors and processors (and lowered manufacturing costs) its pretty simple to create a clock that does the same thing. its just that the wand waves so fast that your eyes are not quick enough to adjust to the speed of the wand -- and all you see is the ghostly floating image of the time. the rims work on the same principle, except the rims probably use much higher quality led's and/or bulbs that dont produce a single color. i am not sure how the rims are hooked up to a pc though, but what i am guessing is that you upload a picture to some type of media and connect it to each individual rim. awesome, rims now have flash drives. lol.

im studying electrical engineering at my school, and given enough time my friends and i could probably create knockoffs of these rims. i am assuming that you just have to have very precise calculations for the speed of rotation of each of the rim spokes. other than that...its just simple digital logic design...010100101101011!!!

Local mall? Ahahaha..somebody hasn't been to northern NH. ;)

If they're so easy to make, why aren't you producing them and charging $15,000/set? :D
