    Had my eyes tested today

They numbed my eyes and tested the pressure.
Then they put some more drops in my eyes and touched them to measure something.
Then, later they numbed them again, (feels really weird by the way) and touched my eyeball a bunch of times to measure the curvature I think. This was really strange. Every time they touched it my eyeball rippled, kinda like touching the water in a pool.
They also took pictures of my eyeball with a flash while they were still dilated. That kinda gave me a headache.
So it turns out my vision is ok, but I need reading glasses.

    Oh well. :)

Lucky bastard. My left eye is so bad the big "E" is blurry. No wonder I used to get headaches all the time before I had glasses. The decent right eye had to keep compensating for the left.

they numbed your eyes then put drops in them to dilate your cornea so that it let in the most amount of light is what i think it is....that way, they can measure your vision more accurately....then when they were touching your eyeball, they were most likely testing for your lens's elasticity....

...they can tell so much by lookin in your eyes, even I had no idea....for example, did you kno that cell of your eyes and cells from your back reproduce at the same rate so therefore, if you have a deficiency or pain associated with your left lower lumbar region, you will also have some sort of deficiency or abnormality in your left eye....just a little fyi.....back to the thread....

I agree, although being dilated for hours is a pain in the butt. :)

They said my pressure is higher than normal but not high enough to conider me for pre-glaucoma. :) Good.

[snicker] Actually that's what I told me mother on the phone when I scheduled the appointment to check for it. :) She, uh, did not find the comment nearly as humorous as I did.

My girl had that done. If mine got that bad, I'd probably do it too.

Im not convinced of this procedure just yet...unless my vision is to the point where everything looks like im viewing the world though opaque glass, then I might consider it....I kno plenty of people have much better vision after the procedure but there have been no studies of the long-term effects....cancer was a possibility, dunno if it still is but if the cancer becomes malignant, then consider this....your anatomy is as follows: eyeball, optic nerve, occupital lobes of brain.....there is no fail-safe system here....so once your eye gets cancer, your brain will probably succumb immediately thereafter....same reasoning for middle ear bacterial infections since there is virtually no barrier which can cause meningitis, encephalitis, etc...

Just my take on it...da** it, shoulda never gotten into the medical field, lol....
