    My 2nd car

I can say that havng a 2nd car is GREAT!
1997 Saab 900-S 2.3L 4Cyl, 150hp non-turbo, 5-speed. Picked the car up for $40 (yes, $40). It needed some work, but I have it running fairly well now. I also "modded" it by adding the factory 9-3 cat-back which has a sportier tone and polished tip. No real mods for the car though as it still needs a little work.

Are you going to keep it or sell it once you get it all fixed up?

I removed the wipers from the Corolla. Don't ask heh. I'm not going to turbo the Corolla, as I decided with the last car that its too much time, money, and potential headache. I enjoy the **** out of how the car drives right now.

The Saab isn't a turbo but it wouldn't take a whole lot to get one put in. Its not going to get one though as its just for daily driving. Also, it needs a $400 radiator fan .

Undecided... I would like to keep it seeing as it only costs me $35 a month to have around. If I sell it I'd probably get 2000-2,500. I'm also happy to have a car that doesn't require premium gas.

Haha. Basically, 5 coats of rain-x and a 2nd car.

Since people over a 9th gen asked...
-If it rains... The rain-x will take care of the problem. If I'm home, I'll drive the Saab depending on how bad it is.
-If It snows/sleets... I'll drive the Saab because the tires I have on the Corolla don't get traction in that stuff. Even if I have to take the corolla, I can clear the windshield and use defrost/fog. Once it melts, rain-x takes care of it.
-If a bug hits the windshield... I'll take care of it at a gas station if it really bothers me. Wipers would likely smear it anyhow.

My ONLY issue would be dry road salt on the windshield. Hasn't been a problem so far because of the rain-x.

I haven't used the wipers in... 6 months! Next thing thats going to be removed is the washer system.

yea 40 bucks is what a junkyard would pay you for your junker. you got an incredible deal alright. and speaking of junkyards, you can probably get a fan there for it too

    Plain and simple...

Woman came in with engine issues. Service advisor somehow convinced her it wasn't worth fixing or some ****. Lady signed title over to shop where ToyRolla works at. No one wanted to take the car so ToyRolla took it.

    that is all. lol.

That's rediculous. Why in the hell would she give the car away TO THE SHOP? I could see giving to charity, but that's just plain dumb. Did the shop pay her anything for it?

    LOL

    W.E.R.D! Thats exactly what happened.

They did try to get a charity to take it but the ladie's husband didn't figure he would get anything for it since they only get what the car sells for at the auction. Since the car didn't run when it was brought in (had to replace the fuel pump motor). Some charities would not take it... or so I was told by the woman and my boss.

By signing the title over to the shop, the customer doesn't need to worry about how to get rid of the car. Sometimes cars that have locked up engines are towed to salvage yards (depending on their value), sometimes we use them as parts donor cars, and sometimes people actually take them - like me. Often times the we have to go through the DMV to register the cars as abandoned (after 6 months of no contact with the customer) and get the titles. I was lucky with this one.

Right now there are 2 9-5s parked out front with engine problems. One (2000 4cyl turbo) needs an engine, the other (2001 V6 turbo) a cylinder head-possibly an engine. If the customers abandon one or the other, I might be selling the 900 to buy parts for their repair.
