    StarGate SG-1/Atlantis

How many of you are into this show? Vortex recently reeled me into it.

Own Season 1...with alot of information on what happens between then and where they currently are.

But how many of you have seen it and dig it too?

hahaha --- I miss RDA myself... I always enjoyed his quips and stabs at different things. The O`neill has a sense of humor very much like my own and I found a great satisfaction all around when watching the show - it sort of gave me a good balance of sci-fi and humor with some action tossed in.

It took me a little while to get into Atlantis... however, the show would be much better if they would stop going off on these tangent stories so much and stick more to the story line... a few here and there aren't bad but **** the writers need to calm down.

Thanks to Vortex I have forced myself into it. One of his first comments to it about me was, "The first season kinda sucks. Too much tangent exploratory storylines."

Which I think is true. As entertaining as "The First Commandment" was...it really served no point to the story line of the Goa'uld other than saying..."Hey, we stole this thing from somebody else that makes the sky orange and blocks UV rays. Neat Huh?"

So here's a question for all you nerds out there. (LOL Laura, awesome.)
Who's the most badass of the original races?
(From what I understand we haven't actually met the Furlings yet...but you have the Nox, The Asgard and the Ancients to choose from.
I'm a fan of the Asgard myself. :D

That would actually fit in certain backyards depending on the house style and garden design...

I'd have to say they all have equal strong points...

The Nox -- well, they've got amazing abilities with their minds, they can even power up a stargate with them, badass

The Asgard -- lots of technology, lots of very cool devices and such and far superior space travel (by ship) abilities... for as much technology as they have tho, they still have to bow to the weaponry of ...

The Ancients (or Al-Terrans) -- drone weapons, o m g --- nothing compares to those things and lets not forget they built the stargate network. not only did they build the gate system and build badass weapons and such, but they also acquired the ability to ascend, which I believe makes them a hell of a lot higher on the chain than the other races...

I just watched Enigma last night.
Thoughts on the Tollan's...Omak is a jerk.

But when Lya (A young female Nox) comes back through the gate...and re-opens it with her mind...

    AWESOME!

Omak redeems himself much later, too bad Tolana pays for it dearly... he was very correct in his stance however... he personally felt some of the responsibility for what happened to that other world and for that closed himself off.

So far...I've seen about half of season 9...about half of season 8...all of season 1, and I'm about 7 episodes into season 2.

Watched Thor's Chariot last night...might I again re-iterate my love of Asgard Technology.

As far as the collection goes...got up through 3.

...As far as some of the highlight episodes in Season's 2 and 3...I did like The Serpent's Lair...Need was a pretty dull episode, except it did show the after-effects of the Sarcophogus, leading to the Goa'uld's extra villainy. (Gotta love a super-villain, who gets more and more evil after ever healing.)
And obviously Thor's Chariot where we see Thor for the first time.

Maybe someone can do a little spoiling for me...since I've seen the very beginning and the very end of this series. When do we get to see our cute, fuzzy-headed mentalist friends The Nox again?

My favorite line from last night...
Teal'c: Things will not calm down, Daniel Jackson. They will in fact calm up.

    Instances of the Nox.

    1) The first time they met in "The Nox"
    2) The second time, in "Enigma" (when we helped the Tollans)
    3) The third and final time, in "Pretense"

Pretense is part of Season 3 -- Klorel fled a battle group dispatched by the System Lord Heru-ur, and made his way to the planet Tollana. He crash-landed in a death glider, and his injuries allowed Skaara to surface and plead for help from the Tollan people. The Tollan placed Klorel and Skaara on triad to decide who will permanently be in charge over Skaara's body. In the end, the swaying vote fell to Lya of the Nox, who declared Klorel should to be removed from Skaara's body.

Oh...I've got several discs to go until I get there then.

Edit: Wait...so Apophis and Klorel didn't get blown to hell at the beginning of Season 2.

you said do a little spoiling.... You already knew Klorel had survived since you saw him in "Full Circle" where Daniel (while ascended) attempted to fight Anubis to keep him from blowing up Abydos. Skaara is finally killed (or should I say he ascends) from there.

ok... well on another note... there is a rumored possibility we'll get to meet a furling in season 10 (meaning that my thought that we may have met and not known is now calmed... i no longer have to qwell on this one)

lots of changes coming in season 10, the next 2 episodes of SG1 and Atlantis are going to be a serious thrill ride towards the setup for Season 10 and 3 of SG1 and Atlantis.

Been reading up on some things... pretty cool stuff going to happen in season 10. :)
