I finally got around to taking pictures of my wheels and drop so here they are.
Oh, the drop is Tein S-techs (2.3/2.4) and I'm sitting on 215/45/17s.

Well, the front took about 2 hours to do. The rear...well that was a little different story. My room mate had to go pick up his car up town and the second he left I realized I needed a 6mm allen wrench (the only **** one I don't have) So I had to wait like...2 1/2 hours for him to get back and pick up a 6mm. Plus I had some problems getting the back right strut off the whole deal. So I'd say total it took two of us 4-5 hours with no electric tools...just torque wrenches and a spring compressor.

I know they haven't totally settled yet, but no sign of rubbing yet. Its a 2.3 front/2.4 rear drop and I'm running on 215/45/17 right now.

But **** it rides like its on a cloud right now.

nice nice yea cause I'm gonna get 17's for mine too and I'm gonna get 225/45/17's with it to protect the wheel and stuff, is gonna look sorta weird but I might go with a 215 though

The 215s are a little more bouncy than stock. They were really bad earlier this week (just put them on Tuesday night) and my mechanic friend that helped me didn't tighten up the rear wheels much (i unscrewed half them w/ my fingers....no lug wrench) so my ride has been horribly bouncy...

So today w/ everything tightened up and the drop...wow.

225s have never looked bad. There is that thread in the suspension part of 9thgen that has pics of every sort of drop on every sort of tire. Don't know if you've seen it yet, but it might help ya out w/ the decision....

oh, its a sticky too so you don't have to search.

To be honest with you...I had no idea what I was doing...nor did my friend that helped. Like, we both had the general gist yanno and then we found out that shops here were gonna charge like 300-400 for an install so we just looked for a DIY and learned the fun way.

If you do take it to a shop just try to do as much preliminary work as possible to shave off some of the labor time. Like with the 9th gens you have to take the back seat out and such and shops will easily charge you an hour of labor to take the seats out. So if you can do little things like take your seats out yourself then you can shave some of the cost off.

while it does ride kinda harsh, it doesn't mean i dont like the harsh ride. The more bumps you feel the better lol

you don't have to take the seats out on a 9th gen... just fold them forward.. not sure about 8th gen... but yeah on ninth gen no removal of the seats... just fold them down and pull back the trunk side carpets...

Thats weird mine's runnin real smooth, but I was extra sure not to hit any harsh bumps...I was keeping it real cool.

The DIY I used (and mistakenly paid attention to for the rear springs) said to take the back seat out so I did, plus a few shops that I talked to said to take it out for them to save labor time and all. It does give you a little bit more access to the spring to have em out (my bolts were crazy tight...not like rusted...but...old) so I had to throw my whole body weight into it.

my seats don't fold and there is no visible access to the rear strut mounts, so i'm pretty sure the rear seat needs to be removed in my case

I'll defenetly look for that thread I need to see how it looks and what not, I dk if it affects that my wheels will have a chrome lip, the wheels that I'm getting are the Motegi's DP10's so hopefully they'll look good on the car

Are you sure your seats dont fold, look in the trunk for the handles. If they dont you are going to have to remove the seats cause the bolts are behind the seat back.

Yea then you are going to have to pull the rear seat out to get to the bolts.

here's what my wheels look like:

I wonder if 225/45R17's would look too big for the wheel and messing up the looks of it but then again I'm afraid that 215's might not protect the wheels as well as I want..... what a dilemma...

I will be doing the install hopefully in a couple of hours. I just wanted to make sure its going to be a direct swap. I've heard of cutting bump stops and i don't know what that means. I have a set of tein s tech springs and ky gr2 struts. I've seen vamps diy and he does a direct swap, am i right in thinking this?
