    I didnt kno!!

    ...that the Lotus Elise has a 2ZZ-GE engine in it....i would never have known if it werent for me seeing the gauges....the gauges say TRD on them so I was like okay....checked on it and sure enough, its powered by the 2ZZ-GE.....dunno if thats old news to some of you or what but new news to me...

    Doubtful considering it had a Rover engine in it originally, it only got the 2ZZ-GE to help meet emissions standard in the US of A when it was finally imported over.

    It has a re-tuned version of the 2ZZ-GE supposedly making 190hp...

    heh the honda heads wish. i'm definitely buying one once i graduate. either the elise or a nice-condition MkI MR2 and stripping the shit out of it with some crazy upgrades. either way i decided i need a 1800lb Mid Engine RWD car with about 200 hp

    any one know the differences in tuning? Is it all in the ecu or did they also alter the injectors, tbody other mechanicals?

    Why strip a nice Mk1? Get one in semi-rough shape and strip that.. :)

    i was watching one of BMI vidoes. and they said due to some regulations they had to switch the cars engine so it can pass US inspection or soemthing like that.

    I doubt they were talking about 'Honda' K series engine in the Elise, they were probably talking about how the car was fitted with a K-series 'Rover' engine. The same engine that they put in Caterhams, Elises, MGFs, and even the Ariel Atom - but unsuitable for the US regs on emissions. But never know - given the resources and demand, they might offer the Elise with different engine choices, like they do with the Ariel Atom.
