Engine P&P intake manifold?

    P&P intake manifold?

    I was wondering if it would be advantageous to port and polish the stock intake manifold in a price to performance ratio perspective. Speaking of which, what would be the normal charge for such a job?

    Thoughts? Comments? Tacos?

    man, what in the fuck are you talking about?!?! did you even read his thread?? port and polish is NOT the same as individual throttle bodies!! AND that link you posted is for an INTEGRA intake manifold...... :confused:

    from what i hear a port and polish on the intake manifold is decent, but not as effective performance/price wise as port and polishing your exhaust manifold. i dont remember how much it cost, it was on the old vvti before it went down the first time. i think racingsolution and n2orolla did it, you can try to ask them although n2orolla is long gone.

    its not that big of a diff...im runnin a proffesionally bored TB along with a ported Intake manifold but unless ur doing other things to the motor then theres no difference and i wouldnt waste the money. by the way im not sure how much it costs cuz i just bought it as a combo from Vamp fo $200

    I'm pretty sure n2o did his intake.. but there's no point in doing my exhaust manifold when i'm putting in a turbo manifold, besides if I was staying NA it would be much more efficient swapping in a aftermarket headerssssssss.

    ITB is pointless on a F head so gorget that all together.

    I think a local plae charge 175 for the job.. reason I ask is because I will be taking off my intake manifold to clean the gunk out caused by the PCV before I add a catch can, thought I kill 2 bears with one stone.

    not much gain at all... our intake manifold is pretty good as it is... there are some sites i read that did some dyno testing on before and after... some actually lost power...

    Maybe extrude honing the manifold would do the job. it's like porting and polishing, in a different way.

    Porting and polishing the intake manifold is a great idea "only" if you flow match it with the head. The machine shop that my intake manifold and head is at right now, is charging me about $900 to Port and Polish the head and intake manfold for 60% more flow, installing new stiffer springs and doing a 3 angle valve job. Just for the port and polish..$300. Or you can just buy the P&P kit off of www.SummitRacing.com and do it yourself.
