    Springs Question

How bad would it be to drop my 02 corolla with h-tech springs on stock struts? And if so, which struts should i be looking at?

it would be pretty bad, both would wear out really quick
how many miles do u have on ur car?

KYB-GR-2 struts aren't bad. Most people have them if they bought lowering springs

i have about 75k miles. yeah, i was thinking of getting the kyb struts, but i read another thread about the kyb gr2's being a stock replacement. that's why i figured it might be okay, especially with only a one inch drop.

anyone have any insight on this?

my suspension i like alot, and those kyb's gr-2 are more then OEM replacement, at least for our cars.... they are good quality struts, OEM on hour cars is kinda shitty

just make sure you're camber and caster are at stock spec when done...otherwise goodbye bearings and tire life.

And the 03+ corolla's already have a TSB on the rear bearings. If you have a bearing noise and are under 36k miles take it in...but if you've changed the suspension warranty won't cover it.

Yeah you won't be sorry when you do it right. I have Tokicos and S-techs and the ride is awesome. It's sporty, but not harsh at all over most pavement. IMO, if you're going to lower it, do it all the way. Get some nice struts, like Tokico or KYB and get springs with a more agressive drop, like S-techs.

I think I might want a stiffer setup now...

I want a full coil over setup like those D2's or JIC Magic's. But I need to recover from this 4k hole in my wallet from the Turbo :(

tell that to my repair shop - they use KYB GR2 as stock replacements.

so are struts, and mufflers, and catalytic converters, and motors - but all die eventually.

the PERCEPTION is, E...i fed off that. so many people think that anything mechanical is supposed to be a lifetime part...if they were supposed to be lifetime, then wouldn't there be a lifetime warranty on them?

and people like me wouldn't have a job...techs that is ;) But no...I've never heard of a car company lifetime warranty on springs...

Autozone has lifetime warranty brake pads..wtf...course they are hard as hell and wear your rotors to hell...I'de rather replace pads than rotors...

on 4th gen accords...you have to press out the bearing to replace rotors...$40 2 rotors...$80 two factory bearings...no fun folks...at least toyota did it right...just pop off the caliper and the rotor slides off...I need a new car *sigh
