    burglary question

my sis's corolla got broken in this weekend. Nothing was stolen. But, I'm curious as to why the thieves break open the little triangle window piece on the rear door? It seems like thieves always go for that window in burglaries. Why is that? I mean it's not like it's close to the lock switch cuz it's on the other side in our cars. any ideas?

They reach in and open the door.....less noise and less chance of an alarm on that window.

Maybe the crook was nice guy and didn't want your sister to have to vacuum up all that glass from a bigger window. Seriously though, I'm glad nothing was stolen.

True...believe it or not, a pro will take your shit with the least amount of damage possible.

its also easier for them to break a small window than a large side or back window

a good thief would just use a slimjim to open the door, instead of breaking a window. most likely, the small window will have the least amount of visual impact. i was in a parking lot and about 3 cars had this window broken out. i only discovered that because i'm guessing the thief whipped his rock at my car when he left because i had an alarm.
