Actually I'm not worried about the front at all. I'm worried about the back of the motor :) The front has lots of room since we trimmed the fan shroud.

I mean if you were trying a v-mount i dont think itd fit with the small space... the back should be ok... it doesnt move as much as you may think it does!

Cool, yeah currently I have the intercooler mounted below the radiator and its mounted absolutly solid and in a sweet location so I have no problems there. My only concern in the world is my firewall and water pipes going into the heater core since they are right behind the turbine, we may have to do some more relocation work to prevent a water line from being knocked loose under boost. That would suck :)

Hopefully T doesn't have any issues with me posting this pic, but when Barnacules talks about turbo clearance to the firewall...
Does it look something like this? This is Vortex's set-up, and from what I've seen he doesn't have any problems.
For the record, this picture was taken about 3:45 in the morning after doing the swap. And yes, there are still several pieces not yet attached. It's the only decent shot I have of the space between the firewall and the turbo.

damn that is tight right there... but liek i said it doesnt move that much... it looks liek it does but its maybe 1/2" or so maybe a full inch on a big jerk.... the motor mounts dont have that much give if you look at them! and again worse comes to worse make em solid!

Sure you can come over any time you want. Might want to wait until I actually have it running first :)

Mine looks a lot like this clearance wise, however his turbo is sitting a bit higher then mine. Mine is tucked in a little bit more behind the motor and sits directly in front of the heater core lines which is what I'm really worried about.

Wow, that Turbo How-To answered a lot of hard questions for me :) Looks like I am going to have to put stickers on after all :D

So last night we didn't finish the turbo, we had to pull all the water lines out and wrap them in 1400° foil heat wrap because they were so close to the turbine and we shaved a little more off the heater core fittings to give ourselves almost a full inch of engine travel. We also wrapped the power steering cable and built a custom bracket for that to hold it to the firewall and we built anotehr brack to hold the water lines for the heater code firmly in place. This kit is taking a lot of custom work but we think its going to work in the end. We also mounted the eManage pressure sensor & Apexi Pressure Sensors and Boost Control Actuator to the firewall and hosed it all up so I think tonight the majority of our time will be spent in the car wiring up the eManage and Apexi stuff. Plus we need to pick up some hardware tonight to tie the boost controller into the system since the guage didn't come with a compatible pressure fitting.

no worries posting the pic... :) i actually was looking for that one to send to him, lol... yes, no issues with clearance... but if your clearance is only 1" or so, then i've got a lot more than you. :)

We fired off the beast last night and idled it to check for leaks and the only thing we noticed was some exhaust comming up from the manifold so we think we just need to tighten stuff down more. But thats pretty mintor, tonight we will install the hardware and software for fuel, ignition and timing so we can actually rev it up a bit.

Good! Could that have been oil burning off of the outside of the manifold?

I don't think so, it was smoking pretty constant and it looked like it was comming from under the manifold. We'll check it out tonight, its just is tuff to get tools in there to tighten stuff up, especially with this cast manifold.

Yeah, stock is a tight fit as it is. I thought I had an exhaust leak after re-installing my header, but it was just the wd-40 burning off. :)

Come to think of it we did use WD40 on the downpipe. Hmm maybe i should let the car run for a while and see if it clears.

We found the exahust leaks and we're going to fix them tomorrow. it was not comming from head but from the down pipe because we didn't have tools that could get the thing tight enough so we're getting some tomorrow. We installed the new 550cc injectors today and the car runs like total ass now :) Atleast until we install the eManage to ballance them out. Also I got to hear my blowoff valve for the first time :) We jumped her up to 1-2psi with the stock injectors and the blow off valve sounded off, it was a thing of beauty and I almost cried haha :D I'll keep you guys posted on more progress tomorrow with pictures but its late so I'm not in the mood to do any photoshopping. I'll also try to post a video clip of me reving it a bit so you can hear how it sounds, but I want the eManage installed and programmed first so the new 550cc injectors dont make my car sound like a 70's V8 on its last leg :)

Not only did it crank, it started and idled :) It just sounded like it was on the edge of dying :)

Vortex, PM me your digits so I can call you later :) I can't find that last post where you corrected the wrong # I had. Also where is the fuel filter on our cars? When I took out my stock injectors they looked like someone took a dump in them so I think my fuel filter is shot and needs to be replaced.

In your gas tank. I believe you have to take the back seat out to get to it...

Do you know the part # so I could go pick up a new filter before installing the new pump?

Isn't the fuel filter a part of the fuel pump (i.e. you won't be able to switch it out)? I have a parts list for the Corolla and I could not find a separate number for a fuel filter. The fuel pump does retail for a little under $250 though.
