one or two of you already know about this, but i've gotta share it with the rest of you. i'm too excited to keep it in any longer.

soooo Mike and i exchanged the first half of our xmas gifties last Monday night...now, he'd asked me awhile ago for my ring size, so i knew something was coming...but he originally asked for a few different fingers, so i thought little of it.

well, lo and behold, he gave me a ring. nothing real gaudy or annoying...it's a silver Claddagh with a woven band (Irish style, yyeeaahh ). he didn't really fully explain the purpose for giving it to me originally, and i was too tired to have it really kick in.

in fact, it didn't really hit me all day. i showed my roommate this morning when i stopped by the apartment..he asked if it was an engagement ring...i said i wasn't really sure, so i left it at that. didn't know the full meaning this afternoon when i showed my coworker, either.

well, here's the short of it. kids, your very own falnfenix is no longer available for your leghumpings( ). as of monday night we're engaged. we'll never have a formal wedding-type-thingy in a church, but there will eventually be some sort of ceremony or something. we havne't discussed that yet.

i'm still sitting here in a slight state of shock, because even though half of me thought it was coming, the other half didn't.

eh...he has a way of doing things that's ubercrazysubtle. that, and he enjoys letting me stew for a little while when it comes to his emotional side. he's the "strong silent type" who doesn't find it easy to express himself when it comes to emotions...so this truly fit his personality to a "t."

hey...if i can get the guy to cut his hair, and make it seem like it was his decision, i'm sure i can get him out of his shell.

I know what you mean about the big weddings and all the hype. It can just be way blown out of proportion. As long as it's special for you two it's all good.

of course it's a claddagh...that's all i WILL wear.

when she does whear rings thats what she wears.. but she works a job where rings are a nono... so she just leaves in in the jelwery box and wears it out.
