Yep..found out that a friend of mine bought a new truck. So...of course, I had to jump at the chance to get his old truck -- a 1998 Tacoma for a mere $5000!

A friend of mine runs a dealership, and he'll try to get a loan for me..so if it all works out, I'll have to post some pics up eventually. Time to sell the Bronco & the Corolla..I'm taking up too much space. :p

    Details:
    1998 Toyota Tacoma SR5 4x4 V6
    Extended cab
    Manual transmission
    Air conditioning
    Cruise control
    Tilt wheel
    Bed liner
    Aluminum toolbox
    265/75/15 studded snow tires

    I hope it works out..especially since TRD makes a s/c (~$1899), and URD makes a performance/tuning kit for it (~$9xx)... :)

Unfortunately not - but it fits 265/75/15s nicely :D

From what I've read, most TRD offroad package parts are replaced if you put a lift kit on the truck, which I'm hoping to do eventually..so it probably won't make much difference except for the sticker.

    1984 Bronco II
    2.8l V6, 3sp auto
    94,xxx miles
Four wheel drive works - needs new ujoints on the front driveshaft/axles
New transmission pan gasket and filter
    Fresh oil change/filter
    New-ish battery
    New battery cables
    New starter solenoid
    New starter
    Roofrack

It looks like the spare tire rack was open and someone backed into something - the panel it attaches to is slightly pulled away from the vehicle, but it doesn't look too hard to fix.

Rust in the floor was repaired with fiberglass and sprayed with undercoating - the body has some minor rust, but it's solid.

It runs a little rough, and will overheat eventually - I'm thinking a bad thermostat..I'll probably try to fix it sometime this week. If your friend wants to come get it as-is, I'll let it go for 300 bucks, and toss in a new plug wire set and a new u-joint. :)

I'm gonna hijack this thread, just for a second.

Great truck. I have been looking into Forced Induction for my '03 Tundra though, and everything I see about F/I on toyota pick-ups makes it just waaaay too much of a hassle. I know in the case of my truck, either the Powerdyne supercharger, or the STS Remote-Mounted Turbo kit...both require major Valve Body Modification to keep the tranny from destroying itself during shifting.

    I'm not saying don't buy a Tacoma, it's a great truck.

    Sorry, thread released!

Also on the TRD package, the truck has a RR Diff lock button

With the URD performance package installed along with the TRD supercharger, it's supposed to run quite well. I also have a manual tranny. ;)

I think a Tundra will be my next truck..maybe in 2 or 3 years.
