    980 horsepower...on the stock block...that's without any major internals...which I think is a load. Unless you could find a turbo set-up that would give you a 660 hp gain...:shutup:

    the 2jz cannot handle 980 hp on stock internals...I wouldn't pay 55k for this car, hell..I wouldn't pay 25K for the car...the transmission killed the originality and the hp ratings also kill the value of the car...if I were to bump my mk3 supra's hp to 980...would I ever get 20k out of it..? I think it's another one of those scams people are doing on ebay to make money by offering a car for sale that they don't even own...

    It's not on stock internals. It has a race motor built by Sound Performance which has made more than one 1,000 hp + supras.

    That's just the thing though...they are advertising that the stock 2JZ pushed 980 horse....if a motor were capable of that, wouldn't it seem reasonable that a built version could handle more like 18-1900?

    NO, they are saying that a "2JZ stock BLOCK can handle that power" That doesnt mean stock internals, it means the BLOCK, which can handle 980 hp.

    actually about 5 or 6 supras with fresh OEM bottom ends (stock crank, rods, pistons, and block) have made over 1000hp. built th400 is the only way to harness the power.... people its being done, and has been done for years.
