as if the reason eint obvious to anyone w/ half a brain......

sum1s probably gonna come and flame this thread

i think certain people expect a level of car knowledge and intelligence in general. when people make a post proving their lack of either, the destruction begins.

some people just enjoy making others look and feel as stupid as possible, some just live for arguments. some label "ignorance" on anyone who doesnt agree with them.

dont get me wrong, stupid questions and comments annoy the hell outa me too, but sometimes its overdone

    Oh boy I can't wait.

Iono, I used to enjoy my time here cuz it was a learning opportunity. Now I ask a question and get 5 smart asses answering the question with only one person giving me a legit answer. What happened?

well man dk what to tell you BUT in the rules (#1 and #4) it clearly states that they can't flame ANYONE or ANYTHING so I dk what's up with that...... the MAIN IDEA of this board is to HELP AND LEARN, NOT TO FLAME OTHERS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE NO MATTER HOW IGNORANT SOMEONE MIGHT GET!!!! all of the PROS were rookies once and stuff so no need for flamming or things of that sort..... if it gets on ur nerves simply don't answer man that's all simple as that. I'm going to be watching the board for flamming comments and such.

    guys...keep something in mind.

1 - many of you are new to the forum. if you think this is hostile, avoid toyotanation.
2 - there are spats here and there, but we really are NOT that hostile. some members are a little more blunt than others.

and my opinion? if you get upset about what someone says on a messageboard, unplug and go outside. it's just the internet...it doesn't really matter.

is my correcting someone in a smartass manner worse than someone spreading blatant, off the wall, misinformation? im fully aware my screen name comes to mind when people think about this. you should be more afraid of the people who will feed you a line of uneducated shit, then afraid of me who will correct them and try to help you to the best of my knowledge.

I'm not saying is wrong to help because like I mentioned before it's the whole point of the site and stuff.... what I mean is that there is NO point on being a smartass when you do it, that's all. I know other sites are worse and stuff and that's precisely why people prefer our site man because we eventually help and not flame the hell out of anyone that comes along, most people in here are grown ups man show some example, leave flaming to high school kids and their stupid attitudes man, we can handle things normally like grown ppl we are man.

FQCA...what threads are you referring to? I skimmed through the last 3 weeks of your posts real quick, and the only thing I can see is the cops subject in the DEBATE AND RANT section........that would suck if you werent allowed to debate in the DEBATE section

ive already been banned a couple times.... from both vvti boards. so i guess if i get too "out of hand" youll all just have to wait a few months to hear from me again. i treat this board just like you all are a group of my friends in person, i DO talk this way to my friends. im typically way more sarcastic in person too....

    but honesty is key

Hmmm, I've been reading lately. (something I normally do not do for enjoyment) and in a couple of the books, they mention why certain people feel the need to correct. Its a typical response especially in males that have low self esteem or "hungry egos" as its referred to. When someone tells a story, we automatically think of another story that slightly outdoes their story to feel important. When someone tells something that may not be accurate, we feel the need to publicly correct them to feed our own ego. I sat back and watched it the other day in my shop.

Our forums may not be as bad as some others, but that does not mean that we cannot improve as a community. Granted the Rant/Rave forum is an animal of a different color, but I've noticed before when someone has been snapped at instead of respectfully corrected.

Just because someone claims something ridiculous, what good does it do to call them on everything? Honesty is the right policy, but it should be out of our own mouths, not forced down someone else's throat. I know I have my own dirty windows to clean before I can go point out that other's have missed a spot.

I like to be "to the point", however I also believe that we have the responsibility to give others the respect we would like to have, regardless.

    -My $.02

If someone gives wrong information there is a better way to correct that is not left wing "pussyfooting" and right wing "slamming". Just show people a certain kind of respect. That person may nor realize their information is incorrect and are only trying to help.

right, because its my job to hold someones hand and be a sweetheart

there truly is no psyche evaluation for me people.... i dont try to one up people. i just sign on here when im not sleeping, working, fucking, etc.... and post where i find myself most interested.

seriously this board is a gentle one. but being on the internet, on a message board, and running off at the mouth while not being able to back up a word you say with any credible information or facts just begs "hassle me". its like playing football and getting upset when someone hits you.... pussies need not apply.

Unfortunately there is a psyche eval for everyone. You may not be all of one type of personality, but you are a mix of the four different types. Whether you choose to listen or not, is up to you. :)

The "one upping" you're referring to is at the subconscious level. You would not be thoughtful of it.

I don't expect you to agree of course, it would make for really boring boards.

Take Dre and I for example. We have had disagreements before but the are in a respectful manner. Why doesn't he bash me? I would like to think its because I show him the respect that I show anyone else here.

yes, we do...it's the ones that aren't used to you that don't know quite how to handle you...and i agree, honesty is key. frankly, i'm glad i was on here and another relatively gentle forum before venturing to others. i doubt i'd have been able to handle myself elsewhere first. you can be proud knowing you singlehandedly toughened me up. ;)
