lol that ups shipping on that bar would be $99 usd for me, crazy! I also dislike those diagrams, they arent correct imo the bar wont totally eliminate flex.Instead of both towers flexing on their own the will both flex a little bit to one side.

So I never understood this.... what is the point of a heavier shift knob? I'd think that lighter would be easier to shift.

The weighted knob really helps with a stiff short shifter. you dont have to force it around the gates as much. its much smoother w/ the weighted knob.

Here's a more scientific answer I got from twnshiftknobs.com lol

Why is a heavier shift knob better you may ask yourself? The answer is simple and relates to basic physics. A heavy shift knob carries with it more kinetic energy and has greater momentum than a less massive (lighter) shift knob travelling at the same speed. Kinetic energy is defined as the energy possessed by a body because of its motion, equal to one half the mass of the body times the square of its speed. Momentum is defined as the product of the mass times the velocity of an object. Since kinetic energy and momentum are directly proportional to an objects mass, the more massive (heavy) an object is the more kinetic energy it carries with it through it's movement, and it has a greater momentum than a less massive object travelling at the same speed.
This theory applies to a weighted shift knob in the following manner. While shifting, the weighted shift knob is set in motion by the driver. While the weighted shift knob is travelling between gears, it has a certain velocity and carries with it kinetic energy. The additional kinetic energy the heavy shift knob carries with it helps it to engage in to the next gear. Essentially, the shifter with a heavier shift knob is more "difficult" to stop because of the added kinetic energy, which actually helps it engage in to the next gear with less direct effort from the driver. The net result is a smoother engagement in to the next gear with less effort put in from the driver on the weighted shift knob to get it in to gear. It is for this reason that a heavier shift knob feels much smoother to shift than a shifter with a stock shift knob.

I can understand how it would feel smoother, but I still don't understand how it would be easier. Sure, it will have some miniscule velocity while inbetween shift points, but YOU have to give it that velocity. Lighter = easier to move but you'll feel more of the mechanics as it moves, vs a little more weight to have to throw around, but a little smoother.

A lighter shift knob would be like stiffer suspension... it's quick to respond, and you can feel every little nuance as you move along. A heavier shift knob would be like stock/smooth suspension, which absorbs everything you'd otherwise feel.

Nice shift knob man. Told you that you would like it.

Gold a lighter shift knob is actually not quicker to respond. I shift much faster with a heavier knob, also you want that stock kind of feel you have a really short shifter.

Yeah I know but I'm a truck driver so I barely have time to take it to a drive through car wash much less detail the interior but it's getting painted this month so it will deffinately be cleaned inside and out soon.
