So went on the last drive before the major surgery begins. Had 84 downhill all to myself for a little while. Turned on the camera late though. Meh. Guy in the STI had a terrible line every corner after that as well.

I have 3 R154s, but none of them have the extended shifter housing you'd need for your Soarer.

And the extra one is gonna be rebuilt at DM with the MC upgrades and the DM 5/R fork.

Still down for you to come help though! :D

Unless I understood this wrong I didn't think I'd need that as my W58 is from the MK3 just with a JZ bell housing. I know there's 2.5 inches to play with between the r154 and the w58 so it's gets confusing browsing hundreds of threads with this info in it lol

I may have spoken out of my ass, since I only know the A70 chassis. Maybe it's the A80 and Aristo that needed the extended housing? Either way, I may have a core before the end of the year that you may call dibs on. My progress is slow, so don't count on it in a timely manner. LOL

The SC has two different W58's this much I know. The early swan style (MK3 trans) and the Tripod style (looks more like a V160 in setup) the tripod shifter sits further back then mine does.

Was yours orginally an auto? Did you swap from SC W58 to a Supra W58?

How much play do you have in your shifter hole :naughty:?

OE W58. My guess is toyota had some stock of MK3 W58's left over so they stuck them in the SC's. My shifter has very little play.

Sounds like the R154 with JZ bellhousing is all you'd need. Do you want to upgrade because of anticipated power goals, or gearing?

First one. W58 feels fragile. Tried power shifting once and the syncros feel like they'll break with ease. Gearing is identical between the two. I want a TT auto rear (3.73) someday. My 4.08 sucks balls

Don't like the 4.08 for N/A mechanical advantage?

    My '88 A70 has a 3.91, but the '90 has a 3.73.

I like the 3.73 a bit better, but only after boost. I need to add some low load timing since it is tuned from the factory for 87 octane.

My MK3 turbo was a 90. Third gear would decimate a lot of people.

90 turbo 5 speed 12 Psi on the stock turbo,HKS Metal headgasket, intake and cat-back exhaust, DNA manual boost controller (500 rpm faster spool) and that was it. Miss it to this day.

My paint was pretty much flawless. Had a tad of rust on the targa but it was under the paint. People stared every time the car was out.

Ya, mine is too far gone to even think about anything besides a full paintjob. That is unfortunately why it is getting plastidipped.

Check out this guy's dyno pull, 431 hp, and look at how flat that torque curve is, pretty much a table. Shitty sound, but look how fast he accelerates from 60 to 120. This is also a 4th gear dyno, due to the speed.

He has exactly the same mod list as me, except I have an appropriately sized intercooler for 500 hp and will be tuning the stock ECU directly. I would expect much quicker spool due to adding timing and smaller intercooler system, but similar max power. With the same turbo and stock intercooler I am at full boost by 3000 rpm easily.

When I got the DNA boost controller, I was doing that. I was seeing boost on my gauge at 2500 vs 3000rpms which in this car is a BIG difference. I want a 60-1 CT-26 for my 2JZ. I feel it'll do nicely.
