    I thought milky had yellows inserts..

    Someone told me I HAVE to use KYB strut housings if you use the Koni yellow. Has anyone used stock strut housings?

    Yea I didn't even know they had an orange till recently. I guess I gotta wait for Milky to chime in on the strut housing question?

    I went to order my Koni yellows today and somehow they are mysteriously out of stock too. I was going to order from the same place I tried to get the Tokicos from. Well I was pretty pissed.. My struts have been blown since I got the car. They worked me a hell of a deal on the Koni orange, so I'll see how they do.. Can anyone give a me an idea on how much trimming I should do to my bump stops?

    Well leaving the whole thing in there wasn't letting my suspension compress fully, so I was having issues with it. And taking them out entirely is obviously not a good idea, so I reached a happy middle ground.

    There is a retaining washer or something on the rear struts below the nut for the strut mount. I didn't see this on the fronts and I didn't re-use it on the rear.

    I'll take a pic when I get home. I plan on taking it off the old ones and putting it on the new ones. There's alittle slop in the mount because it's not quite all the way tight

    New is on left, old is on right. The old one on the right has the retainer (spacer) from the other rear strut on it.

    The struts are actually pretty stiff. I ran a set of KYB for about a week and there is a big difference. I heard these have the same internals as the yellows, but they are set to full soft.. Also, they already have a slit cut in the brake line bracket and the cap/ring you have to take off the top of the strut housing to get sleeves on can practically be taken off with one hand.

    When I took the old strut off I just cut a slit open with an angle grinder and pulled the line out. When I put the KYB in I cut another slit and used a zip tie so it would stay in place. The koni slit is pretty small so it holds the line well.

    zip ties apparently fixes everything....just make sure it dont break off and lets the brake line grind/rub on something.

    I had it that way on the KYBs. It's good to go on the Konis now
