    You have to put it on a cookie sheet, or any kind of pan. Not sure what they are called where you're at. But also put a wet towel on the sheet before putting the light on it. And make sure the light itself is far away from the edges of the oven, or it will burn and melt.

    We might have had it in a too small oven and to close to the top. should have placed it on the bottom shelf

    Yeah you need to put the rack on the lowest row possible, and the cookie sheet is so you don't put the light directly on the metal bars, and the wet towel keeps it from burning and melting.
