    Okay so ive got a hard decision...pay for the koni yellows which are 215 for the front and find a donor pair of oem struts, get ground controls which are 80 and lower the front end so i can get rid of atleast the fender gap or buy 02 front bumper painted and everything with the new headlights and corners which would cost around 350 compared to the 295 for the strut and sleeve combo.

    I dont know what to do....

    I dont want to buy the konis and GC sleeves if they give me the same ride height as my teins

    So you're already lowered on Teins, and those provide as low a drop as any springs. I would not mix and match struts like that, do all or nothing. The Teins are good springs, so get good shocks and you'll be good. If you want it lower, the only good option is coilovers, but that'll run like $1000 unless you can get some used. This makes the 8.5 front end a lot cheaper in comparison. It just seems like (at least in my experience) spending money on little suspension here and there is gonna be a waste, because if you really do want the lowest height possible, you'll end up with coilovers anyway. Might as well not waste money on all the shocks and springs now, but save up for the ultimate.

    well gc sleeves and koni inserts in the front wouldnt be a good option? the back seems fine height wise, its tucking about 1/2 inch and the front i have a 2 finger gap that i want to eliminate. Im going to do both just cant decide which one to go with first bc these koni inserts brand new for 215 sound like a pretty good deal.

    Well no matter what, you shouldn't be using OEM shocks anywhere. And shocks don't really affect the ride height much, unless they're like old and blown or something. You have OEM shocks on all 4 sides now, with Tein springs?

    GC sleeves are among the better sleeves, but none of them are really the best thing to use.

    i have dropzones in the back which are actually pretty good and kybs in the front, which are holding up for now. thats why i want to get the konis and gc sleeves. the rears are fine, im not messing with those, i havent had a problem with those in the past couple years.

    I know the shocks dont affect ride height. but i guess my real question is, am i gonna be able to eliminate the gap with that setup? if not then there wouldnt be a point in getting them

    Well You can probably go lower with the dropzones, so maybe. Can you get only the fronts though? If you're getting all 4, might as well use them. I know you can get just the fronts, and that's not so bad, if you have upgraded shocks on the back.

    i can get konis for the rear just didnt seem like it was necessary bc im content on the height of the rear so i opted for some koni inserts for the front and gc sleeves which are 80 for all four but just using the front for now bc of money. ive been googleing and searching all day for a corolla with koni and gc setup but cant seem to find anyone. I just want to get rid of this damn fender gap without getting $1000 dollar coilover setup when ive heard alot of great things about koni +gc sleeves.

    I had sleeves on KYB's in the rear because I could slam it or raise it to OEM height if I needed... the front DEF needed coilovers. I had no problems with rear sleeves and nor did anyone else. In fact, I just raised the rear and sold the car like that.

    i dont think alot of ppl got what im saying. im doing a koni and gc sleeve setup in the front. asking would i be able to go lower than my teins. i just want to get rid of the fender gap.

    Sleeves are adjustable, so most likely yes. But maybe you weren't reading, we're telling you to either get better suspension or at least match yours all the way around. I think milky has that gc/koni combo, we'll try to get him in here.

    Thing is, the lower you go, the worse your shocks are gonna be. All those shocks you are talking about were designed to operate with stock height, so with them being too low, they won't be operating in the correct range. That's one of the reasons you go with coilovers, because the shock itself gets higher and lower, and therefore always matches the spring and ride height perfectly.

    gotcha, i thought konis were meant for lowering thats why everyone is running this combo.

    I was reading, i get the whole matching suspension, but thats not gonna happen...ive heard alot of people running a certain brand on the front and a certain brand on the back with no problems.

    Some struts are better than others, Konis are good. The better the strut, the stronger it will be (longer it will last) when lowering.

    I wouldn't cheap out on lowering your car, the ride will be rough and you'll end up hating the money you spent on lowering it the wrong way

    So you're not gonna match your stuff because you read other people do it? Hey if you want to do it then by all means. It's better to do things the right way but it's your car. We can give information, obviously you choose what to do with it. There's a newish set of all 4 ksport coilovers for sale right now for like 350... You could jump on that. That's cheaper than doing the front end conversion with OEM parts and getting it all painted.
