you should probably get one that fits.

and one that's not stock, the metal is so thin on those that you can bend it with your bare hands.

Stand on it... if it flexes under your weight or bends, then it's pretty much useless.

By the looks of it, I'm gonna say no.

Certain struts like that desing go for the model its design for because of the compartment area ... I dont think the 8th gen requires that ... I think you need the one that goes across .... I can be wrong :)

There's this expensive machine that does all kinds of things, alignments, corner balancing, load measuring, it can duplicate what driving does to a car so you can see what your suspension does, and they say that they have never seen a single strut bar that does anything.

I think there's definitely a placebo effect, if not a real one. I swear mine made a difference.

I know for a fact that mine never made a difference, in either car! I didn't even bother with a front strut bar this time. Maybe, if you have a lot of other bars installed, they can all help together to make a difference..... but usually, coilovers are enough for me!

Wait you said you didn't notice a difference in either car, but then said that you didn't even bigger with it this time? Either you're messing something up or you've had another car besides the IS and Corolla?

I put that cheap ebay bar in the Corolla for looks, it made no difference in handling.

In the IS, I skipped the front strut bar completely. But I do have a rear strut bar because it came with the braces under the car, which do help.

The braces under the car helped reduce sunroof noise and ear wheel hop when launching.

How does a brace help sunroof noise? I know that a sunroof reduces rigidity but I didn't think they were noisy.

Some people have clicks and pops with the sunroof... I don't know if I ever did though. I did have the rear wheel hop before installing them.

Picture is a AE92 Strut brace modified to fit an 8th gen i remember that photo. My thoughts are like this: I bought the TRD strut brace brand new and noticed a small difference. once i lowered my car that difference was gone. i took off the brace and my car handled better. Chassis was too stiff and i under-steered in the rain constantly. i never did sway bars or anything because i didnt have too.

Stock 8th gen understeers because there is almost no rigidity in the front axle.

A good set of swaybars will significantly reduce understeer.
