Ok so this is a big one.

Ive been thinking about a 5 speed swap for a while now. And finally im diving into it and actually doing it.

But I've also been pondering about a motor swap or possibly a frankenstein build. For the frankenstein build, i was thinking of a 7age. Not the silver or blacktop but the redtop off of the AE92. Has anybody done this before?

If i do go this route, would the future 7AFE 5 speed tranny work with it?

Going frankenstein because i think it would be cheaper to do than a whole motor.

Although i would love a 3sge in my car...But no clue if America even got these motors. the non turbo ones. Have to research that.

And yes i would love a blacktop or silver top, but idk how people get away with running illegal motors from the cops.

And yes i do know any swap isnt legal. But at least we actually had the redtop in the states.

    Any thoughts?

There are many swaps that are actually very legal in America. By the way what car and engine do you currently have?

Nice car dude! Yeah I see you're in California, which basically means it's a really big hassle to swap a motor in. But it's possible.

I don't know much about engine swaps (except that you basically can't do them in California), but your car looks sick! I love the wheel fitment. Looks clean.

You can do the basic 5-speed swap though, just swap everything over. Perfectly legal.

    And welcome!

Gold they CAN be done in California. The legalizing process is difficult but if you want power, you gotta pay.

    :awyeah:

Hey those rims would look sick on my car

But what about the emissions? JDM engines do not meet USA emissions requirements, from my understanding of when I wanted to do the swap (one of the reasons I didn't)

of course, since it's $15/month late, might as well wait another month to get it smogged :troll:
