What about the front edge, how are you going to fill the gap?

well thats the thing, u see im fusing it on both sides and making sure to get really deep with the solderer, once i sand it down it will look pretty good i think

id certainly hope not, naw im putting a thick enough layer of melted plastic over the crack so all it will need is a decent sanding

btw it would be nice if once this project is done, it gets a nice clean up, at least in the posts before the completion xD

yea, i knew right from the get go using bondo wouldnt be a good idea, even the bondo god (cbass) himself told me to steer clear of it, however i hear they have this spray bomdo thats designed specifically for application to flexible surfaces

    1st, you shouldn't be....
2nd, Your thinning the material every time you use heat around the area...what happens when you heat up a plastic bag? it gets small and weak...
3rd, You basically melting plastic, letting it dry and then adding another layer of plastic on top of that, once you start sanding, junks will start falling off
4th, dont use that spray crap, fuck man, excuse me ryan...i dont hate you, your cool man but fuck were you ignoring me when we talked in person? Autozone and home depot sell this plastic/resin/glue in 1 that swivel down to mix properly and create a good adhesive on the outside part...

Thats it, im sorry but ive fixed many, MANY plastic bumpers in auto collision class and i know how this stuff works...Im done, gonna go eat a donut now...

I'll be cleaning this up once the bumper is complete. cBass we know that you know how to do it, but this is Ryan's thread. If his bumper falls apart from his construction, we'll put a disclaimer at the bottom. Feel free to make your own DIY as well.

Go to autozone, its made by SEM and it says plastic bumper on it...the tube also has a swivel straw....Its more like a filler than a adhesive, its a better substitute to bondo.....bondo will have a harder time bonding with plastic.
