To date, the best idea we have of what the 2014 Toyota Corolla will look like is the shape and styling of theFuria Concept from this year's Detroit Auto Show. Obviously the compact car will turn down the wick a fair bit from that orange machine, and now we have one more scintilla of an idea of what the final product will look like.

Published today on Toyota's official Facebook page, the image above clearly shows the rear quarter of the 2014 Corolla S. Though the low angle is pretty wonky, we can make out that the shape of the taillight cluster is very similar to that of the Furia, albeit without the same LED treatment, A hint of a trunk-lid spoiler is also in evidence, and also follows the Furia's lead.

Toyota points out that the new Corolla will be shown in earnest on June 6. Expect to see the full version of the car by that date at the latest – online leaks have a tendancy to speed these things up.

    :(

but get back on topic....i read 2 articles online and both stated that the corolla with have a trim level that has a 1.8 engine that has VVTL-i and 6 speed manual transmission, makes you want to think something positive about the new corolla.

I hope they give us that new 2.0 turbo, unless we have an xrs on the way.:D They're probably gonna to give us that same shitty 2zr-fe motor with only 10 more horses :ack: or the scion 2arfe motor:sleep: . Who knows...:noidea:

The 2zzge needs the have a 2.0L successor. VVTI-L,Valvematic, or both, the next GE head series could possibly have a better FE head instead. Since Toyota is heading the FE way with all of it's latest v6s and i4 engines. Well.... whatever the case is, we need over 160 in tq if its another high rev engine.

Yeah they really fucked up the XRS on the 10th gen Corolla. Biggest difference between the S and XRS on those were the IRS. That should have been a design for all Corollas from the factory

I really hope it's not as shitty as the rest of the CVT's on the market
