LOL, so true. Our gen had the great chassis setup like the previous Ae92/100 but was tweaked just enough to be different from them to not use many aftermarket parts. Mostly because of the new engines. Which are excellent compared to older 4afe's. Smaller and lighter in size, larger in displacement, better torque output, higher hp. All good really. We just really needed Toyota to make a 01-02 corolla xrs and not the sporty s that they did. Imagine what it would have been like. Fuck a civic si. 2400lb car with a 8400rpm 190hp engine and close ratio 6spd?! Fuck. Toyota missed out big time. But they weren't too concerned with sporty cars at the time. It was and still is pretty much fuel economy.

lol it's really not fair, emissons sucks. :bored: From emissions standpoint, we cannot put in the 4age, 1mzfe, 4efte, or trd supercharger. The 3sgte because I cannot find the mr2 1993-1999 usdm version and it's from another car. Nitrous depending on your state. The 2zzge and 2azfe are the only choices.

Well...would a turbo set up cause me to fail emissions? I'm thinking Garrett 60 trim ar48. Will 6psi wear my engine down? Because I know a turbocharger will cause more stress than a supercharger.

But, this is good for us. Cus we have some people who have done things others said could be done. I want to think of it as true enthusiasts who never gave up. Who found a way to do the impossible with our chassis. Like dr. Tweak with the hellish mantis, or Irving with the supercharger. People who didn't give up and knew that it could be done. People like James who set a goal and work to achieve it, not giving up cus Its too hard or don't know how to. I guess I would be included since I got some flack when i tried the 6spd swap for the first time years ago. But I have it, done and driving. Been that way for a while. I love this forum because there are some dedicated people on here. Yeah its just a corolla and eventually we all will move on to something better. But for the mean time... I know I will do what ever I can to help my fellow 8th gen enthusiasts. /end rant.

I pale in comparison to the real power modders like you and Irvin. Thanks for the shoutout, but I'm still a noob compared to you guise.

Still working to get there someday.

No turbo kit was ever made specifically for this car. Unless the TSI extreme or whatever that turbokits.com sells comes with a CARB EO sticker.

I don't understand Toyota sometimes. I do like Honda, but why does Toyota play the catch up game with them? Toyota can so run them over in the N/A sports section.

Come on.... are you kiddy me.... Lets see what we have here....

    Toyota's 1.6L 4age vs Honda's B16 1.6L and B18C? 1.8L?

    Toyota's 2zzge 1.8L vs Honda's B18C? 1.8L and K Series 2.0L?

It's always 1 good Toyota motor vs every 2 of Honda's motors

Something is wrong, they fucked up bad.

Toyota should have given us a 4age 1.8L and a 2zzge 2.0L. If they could not give us a 1.8L and a 2.0L GE series, then they should have given us the 4age, 4efte, and 3s Series. All their best engines are over seas.

Toyota should have given us an 8th gen xrs, an 8th gen hatch model xrs, and a 2zzge mr2. The S Corolla model ? That model was a joke. lol The 8th generation corollas could have matched the K series in the Honda's section.

The Celica gts, the Matrix, and the 9th gen xrs are all playing catch up with the K Series. The 9th gen models should have killed off the K series.

I don't think the Celica gts should have a 2zzge. The Celica lived in turboville. Its should have a 2azfe.

    I have a dumb question....

Do you think I can ask TRD for the CARB EO stickers to put on my engine ? Or is this impossible? After all, those corolla 1zzfes are all the same except vvti.

They probably won't give it to you without proof of purchase, but it won't work. The number is registered specifically to 03-04 Corollas with non-DBW. That's why it would only work if you did the 03-04 1ZZ swap.

If you are talking about them getting a new EO for a discontinued TRD Supercharger for the 8th gen, then the chances of success are very very very very low. I would say it's completely impossible, but sometimes miracles happen, lol.

Do you think the 03-04 1zzfe from the corolla will blot up with my existing transmission ?

    Yep.

Although you will gain acceleration if you swap to a 9th gen C59 Manual.

I called both TRD, GM, and some emission sites. They said to try it and see if it can pass emissions. Piggyback engine management such E-manage Blue and Ultimate are allowed.

I have no idea on how to get CARB EO stickers. from one of those dealer ships. They were not clear in this situation, as many of them had never heard of a supercharged 8th gen Corolla or Prizm.

Any successful and emission wise stories?

I found this site somewhere in the 8th gen forums. I can't tell if this engine is a second gen or a third gen. If it is obd2 either. Are those engine legal in U.S with emissions ? Has anyone had any success with this engine ? Emission wise ? Is there a second gen us 94-99 3stge model or did they stop producing them after 1995 ?

F*uk man, lol I don't why companies sell these awesome JDM engines if we can't use them.:kidding:

It all depends on the state you live in, you need to check with that. If it's California, it's almost a guaranteed no-go, but it depends on many variables.

I would also agree with James, the second car will be the faster of the two in every aspects of racing but flat out drag racing. I'm all for broad powerbands. So many people build monstrous high hp builds. Stuff that comes into boost at 5000rpm and screams to 8500 redline.. then get pulled on by a car with less power but a broader powerband and can't figure it out. While they are still spoiling, I'm gone. Leaving them behind to play catch up if they can.

Oh, you have 500 HP? Why did I drive all the way around the track and lap you with only 300 to the wheels then?
