    Yup true on 17s I could clear driveways and with a body kit, on 15s stock body chasis sits about 3 inches off ground and I have to angle, on springs lol

    even though it sits lower you will have a larger gap between the tire and the top of the fender too which is why lowering it more will help.

    Smaller rim and tires usually don't make up that much for height.
    On my old 17s I was high enough to drive over speed bumps with no problems but on 14's I got for winter wheels I was scraping on everything.

    I suppose if you have a taller tire (smaller rim) there will be more sidewall deflection, and the car will be lower.
