I am working with TSI right now to get him some compensation. He basically did all of the R & D... As you know, R & D is not cheap.

Anyway, I really hope that TSI takes all of his info and re-works the kit. He has done an exceptional job at doing the work to get it to fit and keeping a detailed record of everything.

Thanks Jesse, I appriciate it. Tonight we're going to work on the fuel management system since we have the engine bay pretty much buttoned up. I have ordered a short ram intake system with a MAF bung to replace my stock airbox since there is no realistic way to get it to fit correctly with the turbo installed. This should be the final fitment issue in the engine bay. I'll send you another update tonight on our progress but we're hoping to have the car running tonight.

So am I, but now we're slightly worried about how much the motor moves under torque, the turbo is sitting about 2" from the firewall and 1" from the heater core pipes (even after trimming them and putting 45° fittings on them) and I'm afraid that if I take off hard its going to ram the turbine into the heater core pipes and cause them to burst and shoot water all over the place. But we're going to deal with that when we get there. There is a picture on turbokits.com that shows this turbo installed on an 03 corolla where it looks like the turbine is almost resting against the firewall and that guy seems to be working. Again, I'll deal with it when I get there :)

Just fill your mounts with poly and you'll be set. :)

Where do you guy the poly to fill the mounts with? :) And also we didn't finish last night because we had to re-do the heater core lines to wrap them in heat tape and shorten them a little more. if my motor moves backwards in the engine bar more then 1 inch its going to hit those hoses so I'm crossing my fingers.

id try without filling them first but if you do choose to which will make it vibrate a little more but you should get power to the ground better!

Cool, how do you apply it to the motor mounts? Do they need to be removed or do you just press the stuff into the motor mounts while they are on the car?

So last night we didn't finish the turbo, we had to pull all the water lines out and wrap them in 1400° foil heat wrap because they were so close to the turbine and we shaved a little more off the heater core fittings to give ourselves almost a full inch of engine travel. We also wrapped the power steering cable and built a custom bracket for that to hold it to the firewall and we built anotehr brack to hold the water lines for the heater code firmly in place. This kit is taking a lot of custom work but we think its going to work in the end. We also mounted the eManage pressure sensor & Apexi Pressure Sensors and Boost Control Actuator to the firewall and hosed it all up so I think tonight the majority of our time will be spent in the car wiring up the eManage and Apexi stuff. Plus we need to pick up some hardware tonight to tie the boost controller into the system since the guage didn't come with a compatible pressure fitting.

most peopel remove the front one becuase its easy to get out and basically put tin foil on one side to hold it and fill it up and then let it dry til it doesnt move or drip and then do other side and let it dry 24 hrs...

the rear motor mount most peopel fill while its on the car cuz its such a bitch to get off....

either way id say wait to see if you really need to do that!

We started the car last night with the stock airbox sitting on top of the motor since there is no longer any room for it and the car idled good, we need to tighten down some stuff because we had an exhaust leak but other then that things look good at this point, tonight we're going to install the eManage & S-AVCR and 550cc injectors so we can actually test the boost. I'll keep you guys posted.

Today we installed the 550cc injectors and located the exhaust leak which we need to get some new tools to fix. But the car still starts and run but just super rich and barly idles :) I'm hoping the eManage with Vortex's maps will ballance out the 550cc injectors so the car will run correctly. We finished putting the dash board back in and fixed up most of the interrior but we're not done with all the wireing yet. We're hoping tomorrow will be the finish day for this kit before we can actually take it out for a drive and then try to solve all the other little problems we run into :D

Hahahaha, yeah we'll find out tonight :) Yeah we installed the injectors and they were pissing fuel all over the place just like you had said they might but it was not because the orings were bad it was because they were creeping up on the shaft of the injectors when we inserted them. So we had to wiggle them gently into place over a long period of time and then it worked like a dream. But the car just idles like an NHRA dragster :) And when you give it gas it revs really slow and clunky. But I'm guessing that is because the stock ECU is telling those 550cc to work at the same duity as the old injectors so its like blowing twice as much fuel in there and running oober rich :)

indeed... your MAF sensor is giving the ECU x.xx volts when it needs to be reduced (by the eManage) to compensate. It's not really a duty cycle issue as it is a pulse width duration issue. ie, you're spitting off 3ms of fuel when you should only be spitting off 1ms of fuel.

hahahaha, it was running Rich as a mofo, I was forming a Cumulonimbus cloud behind my car :D we'll get her fixed up tonight and running right. Then I can take it out and put it around slow until I can afford to hit the Dyno. Plus I still need to figure out how to monitor the engine bay while I drive to check the clearance issues with the heatercore. Maybe I'll mount a camera in the engine bay or something :D

:D... So Trav, tonight we hit a snag. I could not figure out the ignition harness for the eManage. We figured out that the injector harness just goes from injector # to channel # and you just hook up the 4 channels and the ground (does the ground goto the ECU ground, or chasis?). But the ignition harness looks far more complex and I did not understand the directions. Could you tell me how to connect the ignition harness? Do I tap the 2 wires comming off the ECU for ignition and if so which place on the eManage connector do I use for the in and out? Do I just use 4 pins total since there are only two ignitions or do I have to splice them togather and such. The directions were confusing and blury on this part :)

ok... what you wanna do on this is way simple.
    1. find all four wires going to coil packs from the ECU.
    2. identify which one is for which cylinder (ie which color is which coil pack)
    3. split them - yay!
    4. mate them up to these wires in this order:

    CP = Coil Pack

    B/W - CP 1 OUT FROM ECU
    O/W - CP 2 OUT FROM ECU
    Y/W - CP 3 OUT FROM ECU
    P/W - CP 4 OUT FROM ECU

BL/B - OUT FROM EMANAGE TO CP 1
O/B - OUT FROM EMANAGE TO CP 2
Y/B - OUT FROM EMANAGE TO CP 3
P/B - OUT FROM EMANAGE TO CP 4

Notice that the channels coming from the ECU to the eManage are striped white and the channels leaving the eManage going to the coil packs are striped black.

Okay so how do I figure out which wires comming out of the ECU are for the coil packs? What order are the coil packs in? Looking at the engine is it 1 though 4 left to right? or right to left? Doesn't each coil pack have like 4 wires comming out of it? If so which wire should I be concerned with? And also to double check my work on the injector harness you just splice injector 1 - 4 into emanage injector 1 - 4 and then hook up the ground?

you really should have had a wiring diagram for your car...

however, there is the ECU pinout at the end of the emanage document i wrote, look at it - it'll tell ya which is IGN1-4 :)

We got the turbo installed now that we built the custom intake and the engine install is pretty much complete. But we have been unable to test it because we're having trouble configuring the engine management aspect. We're going to work on it tonight and tomorrow so we can take it out for a test drive. I'll keep you posted. Sorry for being out of touch but I've been dieing from exhaustion between work and this turbo project :D
