    What happened to HUMMER'S?
    Added: Nov 12, 2012 2:27 AM

The other good thing is that I ALREADY have 4 Brand New OEM 1zz pistons.

It's pretty much ready to go back together. It took me about 4 hours to rip it all apart.

For me it's easy cuz I've rebuilt plenty of motors. You need to know what you're doing when you're opening up these engines.

I only had 2 problems with the 1zz, the two times it would not start I had to put oil in the cylinders through the spark plugs to get compression, not sure if I was low on oil or what.
Probably was because the first time it happened when I checked the oil I got an ear bashing from my friends on how low the oil was, I was changing the spark plugs at the time it happened, so no idea if theres any correlation to that. :D
The lil fucker burned quite a bit of oil.

    My experience.
First: Burnt too much oil -common
    Second: spun a rod bearing
    Third: cracked piston.

My 2zzge's i've had in the past both had spun bearings. Never misshifted.

All my Honda's I've had in the past never broke. Revved the crap out of them during racing applications like autocrossed. 9krpm no problem.

Yea, we've had hondas in the family all our life, never any problems with burning oil or motor/tranny issues. My Accord has about as much miles as the corolla had when it started burning oil.

Yeah those K series turned out really well. I come across them all day long with high mileage nearing 200k or more.

The zz engines are good. I don't think they can take abuse at all. I've also seen plenty of 1zz's nearing 300k and still running good. Those owners are usually older people though.

Waiting on some TRD lips as soon as they become available.................

Also gonna upgrade the suspension some more and probably the plastic intake mod. I need to see if that
reduces or improves fuel economy first though. There hasn't been any reports on tht.

Well the thing is that I have a heavy foot. On a Normal driving basis it probably dropped my MPG's from 43~ to 38 and also switched from regular to premium fuel. But like I said... I have a heavy foot so I was probably getting 33's which I guess is still not bad but when you commute 130miles a day, 5 days a week. It adds up lol.
