    i have p0420 currently, what i did to get it to pass was reset the computer, got all the monitor to be ready for smog and took it in, passed easy. They take like 25miles driving at 55mph to have the monitors set.

    It did come back, ive been told its my cat but i wont replace it till i do my whole exhaust.

    Have you tried dumping some cleaning solution on your gas tank? heard some good stuff about that.

    Ya iv'e tried techron, heet, running a can of carb cleaner.

    That must have been a huge coincidence that your light was off, the 420 code comes on with the second monitor set, and we need 3 set to smog.

    irvin explained me another way to clean the cat, ask him for more details.

    For some reason when i disconnect the battery it takes at least 3 good trips to the bay and back to get that CEL. Thats how i passed smog, like all my monitors set

    If your car is a 98-2000 then you can have 2 not set. 2001 and newer the limit is 1 not ready.
