Very similar to my engine bay... TRD bar, no washer reservoir, red valve cover, kinda tricked me.

i suppose your red is gloss red and mine is wrinkle red. And custom coolant reservoir by the power steering fluid due to my 3" intake.

Yeah I think I did a semi gloss on mine. And I'm jelly of the aluminum radiator too. How much did that set you back? I'm wanting to replace everything soon.

overclock your ecu by changing the frequency of the crystal. Our ecus comes with 16Mhz crystal, so just get a higher one and install it.

I got the aluminum radiator like way before i even got my intake manifold swap, lasting me over 2 yrs so far now. And i think found a cheap one that was way below $100 back then.

Is the aluminum radiator made for the 8th gen? Your engine bay looks nice!
Kinda makes me jelly. I need to find a radiator hose and intake to do the manifold swap.Been lagging on getting it done.
I also noticed the small details..the bolts and colored washers. I have some purple ones on my fenders.
But seriously everything is looking great!

I agree too, write up please. But hopefully there won't be any other issues by doing that like effects on ecu or on engine or anything

I have read something like that that was for a 1zz celica i think on newcelica.org and they did change those crystal and got higher redline.

i used a 16.667MHz crystal which raised the limiter to 6450
    16.667/16= 1.0416875
    1.0416875*6200(stock limiter) = 6458.4625 (new limiter)

Thanks man. I know the video isn't for a corolla ecu so would it be possible to get a general location of this crystal. I'm not gonna just tear up the ecu and start ripping things appart.lol also I noticed your tach reached 7000. How would you hit that if your limiter kicked in at 6450?

lol the crystal is obvious once you open the ECU. That wasn't my car, that was Quick200o car that was running the celica ECU

Not unless you have supporting mods to make power that high, the 1zz I believe makes peak power below that.

Well I feel dumb.lol how does it feel with the power gain? Also, could I trouble you for the values of of a 6700 redline? And would you suggest it?

lol its cool. and it feels great, pulls all the way to redline then when you shift its in the powerband for the next gear so it just keeps pulling. But w/o the plastic intake manifold /TB it doesn't make sense. You would need a 17.29Mhz crystal to raise it to 6700.

Idk if i would suggest it, the reason i didn't raise mine higher was because i don't have vvti and the powerfall off would come sooner

SWAPPED! And it feels GREAT with the IM/TB swap! Shifts at 7k and drops down to 5.2k (well within power band) and keeps pulling. :D Huge thanks to crolla for connectors and pinouts.

Time will tell if it fixes my CEL.

Eh I think I could use it. The reason why we don't make power that high is because we need stiffer springs on the lifters cuz they start floating at 6'600 rpms. So I got stiffer springs and a new cam. Also gonna get the crankshaft lightened and the flywheel I have sitting in the garage lightened and get a stage 2 clutch. I should rev up pretty quick.
