    But it used to be honey color, and now it's more like black. Doesn't that indicate the oil has more gunk in it?

    I guess I don't have to change the oil after all :D

    do you have 220 + miles on the original motor and tranny? and also came defective from factory? a car will eventually die but to keep it alive you change the motor, reason why i got another one

    I did on my Corolla, sure. Same exact situation. the 93-95 7afes had an oil burning problem... the first motor didn't even last till 200,000. The second blew at 251,000. The tranny was the only good thing left in the car.

    I'm saying that I had my share of oil problems with the Corolla, so I'm very happy that the IS300 is worry-free where oil is concerned.
