Well guys, I finally got around to installing the rare OEM Toyota Caldina rear lip in the weekend. The fitment wasn't 100% perfect since the lip is off a completely different model, which happens to be a wagon, but was nothing that a heat gun, a lot of patience and some urethane couldn't fix . Got my muffler slightly moved over today because it was touching against the left hand side of the lip. Here's some photos I just took within the last hour:

it doesn't look bad but i think ur car looks better without it. the area around the muffler is what really throws it off to me.

I completely understand where you're coming from Chris. The wavyness that you mentioned is really only noticeable from down low (both photos were taken on a lower than level angle), but the reason for this is because on the Caldina it slopes upwards, whereas it can't do that as much on the Corolla. It's hard to tell from the photos, but it does infact make the rear bumper more in line with the sideskirts. I'll have to get you a complete side on shot sometime . Honestly, it looks a lot better in person than it does in the photos, so I guess you'll just have to take my word for it, but I do appreciate your honesty

Eh, I dont like it (no offense) it just dosent look like it fits on the car well or flush. It looks like wall molding or something.

Thanks. It sure as hell wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. By pushing one part in it pulled out another, all while you're trying to follow the factory seam of the bumper. I personally don't see anything wrong with it, but than against I'm biased . Nope, no factory rear lips for the 7th Gen sedan. The closest is the BZ Touring wagon rear lip but they'll so short in height that you may as well not even bother.

dont get me wrong, it doesn't look bad but i gotta agree with gold that it doesnt look as good as the other goodies you have on that car. dont be haha

Alright Scott in my honest opinion I think that looks sick as fuck. I liked at first but I fell in love when you posted it with a higher view of it. It looks clean and completes your lip kit. Its a great addition to all of the other dope ass OEM mods you've installed on your car. I wish my car looked as clean as yours One thing though Scott, perhaps maybe try out the 98-02 OEM sideskirts? See if you like how it looks. If not then just take them off.lol

Yeah I agree try out the oem 8th gen side skirts. Maybe it's the current ones you have know that are growing it off?

Yeah the low angle doesn't really do it justice, so it's good to hear that you're more fond of it now that I've posted some more shots. Yeah it goes thicker because of the way it curves. It quite deceiving because the lip is the same thickness all the way around, but because the Corolla's rear bumper isn't dead flat the whole way around it makes it appear skinnier on the sides because it has to tuck under the curve. Definitely a huge improvement over having nothing there at all, so I'm very happy with the way it has come out

Fair enough . I got a similar response when I put the front lip on, but it seems to grow on people over time. Haha, I'm not angry, it's just that you guys seem to make it out to be worse than it really is. I guess you have to see it in real-life to appreciate it

Thanks man!! . Looks like I'll have to post the other photos on every other forum I'm on too, lol. The 8th Gen sideskirts over here were only available on the JDM AE111 GT model, which are incredibly rare. The next closest would be the facelift BZ Touring wagon, but they look a little curvy in the middle, almost like someone has jacked it up in the centre and bent it, lol. Then there's the pre-facelift BZ Touring wagon sideskirts, but they look a little too 'puffy' in my opinion (yes, I'm one fussy prick, lol). Might have to adapt something from another model

I wouldn't mind filling the gap, but it might be more trouble than it's worth now that the lip is fitted and painted. Was going to be too difficult to join the lip prior to fitting it because there were too many variables as to where it was going to actually sit etc. I may look into getting it done, but for now I'm happy with how it is
