Oh, you mean before I destroyed the bumper... yeah it was messed up already, so I wasn't too upset about it lol. It's the frame and structure that I'm more worried about (like the trunk doesn't close right anymore)

It never does after you've been penetrated from the rear.

Yeah, you can't go super fast through turns without coilovers or a good stiff spring/shock combo AND good wheels/tires (NOT stockies)

so its been 2 months and im desperatly trying to fix my corolla for smog, the p0420 code finally left and now when the car was being tested i got p0500 Vehicle speed sensor malfunction...

the guy asked if my cluster is working....It works but there are times when my RPM needle gets stuck and i smack the top of the dash and it moves again...i did replace the faces on my gauges and i want to know does it have anything to do with me removing the needles? can i borrow a cluster and pass like that? or do i actually need a VSS? and where are these fuckers located!!!

BTW corolla passed the emission part of the test, everything passed with flying colors, guy said if it would have stayed off for another 5min you would have passed...

    FML-_-:(

yeah, that sucks. Maybe the gauge faces aren't completely flat, or the needles are pushed in too far, and are hitting the faces?

Yeah I had a little issue when I did the glow gauges with the gas needle not moving. Pull it out slightly and it should fix it I hope. It shouldn't be all the way pushed in.

well i was going to take my cluster out but i did a quick run to the store and noticed i had no CEL, so WTF?

Im reading online that if the VSS is broken/malfunctioning the car should drive poorly yet my corolla drives normally, so now im just ...Im surprised TN does not have that many 8th gen drivers with this problem code.

so can the actual needle kick in the CEL? seriously these corollas are fucken sensitive as fuck...

Most likely ill just clean up the VSS and see if that fixes it...or just go to another smog station...no pass no pay FTW

lol, the CEL might have been burned out in my Corolla.

But the needles won't trigger the CEL... only emissions-related stuff.

You could always ask TN about the CEL...

p0500 is a universal code, and that triggers CEL, my corolla passed emission fine
