So I will be taking the Corolla to Thunder Hill for an open track day. I will outline the work to be done to prepare the car as well as share media from the event as well.

    MEDIA SHORTCUT:
    PICS: http://www.trdforums.com/threads/thunder-hill-with-norcal-racing-club.35173/page-4#post-429389
    VIDS: http://www.trdforums.com/threads/thunder-hill-with-norcal-racing-club.35173/page-5#post-429556

I will be rocking #703 to rep my VA built (mostly...) Corolla. The car is in good shape with just a few maintenance items to take care of before I can tech it.

    1. Acquire wheels and fresh tires
    2. Inspect rear shoes and replace if needed
    3. Install SS brake lines
      1. Goodridges acquired
    4. Change brake fluid
      1. Brake fluid ordered: Motul RBF 600
    5. Install Energy Suspension motor mount insert
    6. Roll rear fenders
    7. Regrease shifter cable bushings
    8. Uninstall the rest of the Nitrous kit
    9. Buy car numbers
    10. Buy a camera mount
    11. Get a helmet
    12. Install TRD strut bar [optional!]

This is basically an exploit since I got the rims before making this thread, but progress is progress and I'll count it!

Yeah, I was running a 35 wet shot. Only went through 1.5 bottles then realized it is a bad idea without being able to tune timing/vvti.

Hell yeah, it made a huge difference! It's like going from 110 hp to 140 hp as soon as you hit WOT. Maybe I should put it back for the track day.......

I was on a Corolla forum when the original thread came out. That was a repaired/rebarreled wheel IIRC. Either way, good looking out, thanks!

I'd do that lol. And for hummer's pic, I knew you'd post one of those, that's why I had asked if they were reps or not... drags are stronger than rotas.

Nice thread James... a real thread lol. Please do your best to keep it updated enough to keep it on topic!!

Now, that list of "prep" looks simple enough, should be easy to do in a month. With the open track day and all, what are your plans? Just drive around and have fun?

I wouldn't do it on a black car though. Just my two cents. I'm sure it doesn't look too bad just I think it would show imperfections in the paint even more.

Do what, white rims on a black car? I guess the rims in your sig don't qualify as white? Close enough lol.

Thanks, will do. I am in the beginner's driving school group (nubs) and will just try to have fun, and not go off the track.

I actually agree with you, something is just wrong with that. My daily driver rims will remain my Steel Grey (going on 10 years old) Rota Slips (all original). These white Slips are just going to be track wheels/spares/backups.

These are original as well. I missed where you said that, opps. What are drags?

It was in the shoutbox remember? Then you had said they were real slips. Drag is a company that makes replica rims but they are stronger. They aren't known to break.
exdream has those GT3s now remember? I'm on steelies, it was a trade for his TRD front valences.
