Yeah I could find those for you, but unfortunately I wouldn't be able to ship them because there's a 1500mm size limit, and sideskirts measure in at 1750mm. Could send anything else though.

Got some personalised plates today [IMG]

Your car is sex. Nice plates too.
How about a black 3 spoke wheel from the corolla S? (At a reasonable price)

Thanks buddy. Just out of curiosity, when you first see the licence plate, what is your first thought of what it means?

Hmm, have you got a photo of the wheels? Could definitely send those but shipping would be a killer due to the weight.

I think it means your whipped from your girlfriend hahaha. No just kidding, I just think of whip cream, how it's white and clean like your car.

I mean the steering wheel lol.

Haha, I'm glad you said that you thought of whipped cream because that's exactly what I was going for. Could definitely mean whipped by my girlfriend too, or if I beat somebody in a race it could mean that they got "whipped" [IMG]

Ohhh, the steering wheel. Was gonna say that I hope Toyota didn't dare to bring out a tri-spoke rim on one of their vehicles . That will be much easier to ship. That's an airbag wheel though right? If so, I won't be able to send it because it's classed as an explosive device, lol. Can only send non-airbag steering wheels, or else I'll probably be arresting for attempted terrorism.

Lol, I could send it without the airbag but that wouldn't be much use to you. Otherwise I could send you a nice non-airbag one instead

Can definitely send you the power folding mirrors. They only came on the JDM SE Saloon model, but I just so happen to know of one that's being wrecked right now. Could get them as early as tomorrow if you like, before all of the wreckers shut up for Christmas. Price would be $200 NZD ($155.70 USD) + shipping. If you're keen just let me know ;)

Side skirts for an 8th Gen are actually really hard to find because the only model that they came on was the JDM GT. The 7th Gen BZ Touring sideskirts would also fit though :)

Still got a few things that I'm looking for, such as a digital dash, mirror covers with built-in tweeters and an a-pillar map light. There's also a number of other options that I wouldn't mind finding. Got most of the rarest ones out of the way so far though :D

Yep, although in the Corolla's case just the speedometer is digital. The rev counter, fuel gauge and temp gauge are still analogue (which I prefer anyway since you can see the rev gauge soaring up when you give it full throttle, and it's much easier to judge how much fuel you've got left in the tank).

I actually took an AE101 Levin for a test drive a few days ago which had a digital dash fitted to it (virtually identical digital dash to the one the Corolla had except it was a slightly different shape) and it was awesome! Extremely rare. The rarest AE101 part you'll ever find in fact. I'm not sure if you can remember, but a while back I came across a Corolla here that had a digital dash fitted and I was going to buy the whole car just so I could remove the dash, but someone else bought it before me . I'll find another one someday though.

    Here's some photos:

I attended a Toyota meet last night and a friend of mine snapped some shots of my car:

Also, finally got my door cards reupholstered with the Corolla GT fabric (fabric transferred from one set of door cards to the other). I've had the GT seats installed for about 18-months, but never got around to getting the door card fabric transferred across because every upholsterer I went to wanted to charge between $500-700  (couldn't just swap the GT door cards straight over because the plastic was grey, whereas the interior plastic in my SE Limited is plum).

A lot of places didn't even want to attempt the job, mainly because the door card was all one piece, so they'd have to tuck it in perfectly whilst also lining up the holes for the electric window switch etc. Ended up finding an Indian guy who has been in the business for 50-years that was willing to do it for $180. Dropped it off yesterday before lunch and it was ready at 11am this morning :D

    Here's the result:

Yeah it's been on my "to do" list for quite some time but I never got around to getting it done, mainly due to the prices I was quoted and because I didn't fancy the idea of driving around with no door cards. I happened to find a set of plum door cards from an SE-G model at the junkyard about a month ago though, so I dropped those off at the upholsterer instead. One added bonus is that the GT fabric makes the window tint appear slightly darker because the old fabric used to be a khaki colour that stood out like a sore thumb. Thanks man, glad you like it too

Definitely not my favorite choice for fabric, personally.... but I definitely like it and now it finally all matches! The fabrics even match the plum color. Funny how you say plum... mine looked the same color, but it was definitely brown. Is plum=brown?

Thanks! Haha, I'm the same when I look at the interior of LHD Corolla's. I don't think I could ever get used to changing gear with my right hand

Cheers Chris. The thing I like most about the fabric is that it was unique to the GT model, which are extremely rare these days. All I need now is a 4A-GE, rear disc brakes and a front swaybar and it will officially be the same spec as a GT . Haha, the interior is more purplish than brown, which is why I call it plum. I suppose some people could see it as brown though, but in my opinion it's not brown enough to be brown, lol. The official name for it given by Toyota is 'taupe'.

So is there a "browner" interior over there? I think I would have liked my interior more if I called it plum haha.

Don't get me wrong, I like the fabric. Especially because it is OEM fabric, which is the whole point. If I was redoing the fabric, I'd go with something non-OEM, which would be a sin on your car lol.

You having trouble finding a front sway bar? Finally! Something my broken Corolla has that you don't have! muhahahaha

The 8th Gen Corollas had a brown interior, but it was more tan than brown, so I'd say the colour of my interior would be the darkest available in the 7th Gens. Haha, yeah you should have called it plum. Seems so much more elegant that way. Oh, I would have gone for different fabric if I was redoing the entire interior too ;), but like you said, that would have been a sin in my car, and even more of a sin to recover seats that are rarer than hen's teeth these days.

Haha, nah the front swaybars are extremely easy to get here, but the reason I haven't installed one is because the control arms don't have the little tab for the end-links to bolt to. I could use 6th Gen end links though and bolt like links vertically, but in order to fit the swaybar I'd have to unbolt the middle section of the exhaust to get it up there, which I really can't be bothered doing right now, lol. The lack of a front swaybar has it's advantages however - Such as two nights ago on the way to the Toyota meet, I overtook a van on a highway on-ramp that has an extremely wide corner (I was on the outside lane and it was shaped like a U). When I put my foot down it understeered hard, but then violently oversteered, causing the ass end of the car to literally drift around the corner. It was a little freaky, but also pretty damn cool when I gained traction again and realised that I had just drifted my Corolla :D (albeit not the true definition of a drift, but a drift nonetheless). Fitting a front swaybar will increase the understeer but reduce the oversteer, so I have to decide whether I want more of a risk of running into a wall or spinning out of control [IMG]

    Cheers dude [IMG]

Time for the throwback. Pics of my interior stock. It does look like "plum" although the sun definitely makes it look brown.

I can never remember which is which, but I think that in a front-wheel drive car, you need to increase the front sway bar to "spin out of control". In a rear-wheel drive car like mine, I need to increase the rear sway bar to spin out of control. Which is why you almost "ran into the wall" before you went tail happy.

Yeah it looks quite brown in the sun, but when inside the cabin it's definitely more of a plum colour.

The thicker the rear swaybar the more oversteer you'll get, and the thicker the front swaybar the more understeer you'll get ;)

    I'm a patient man, so I don't mind waiting :p
This arrived from Japan this morning - An OEM cabin filter. It was a very rare optional extra, and I didn't even know it existed until about 6-months ago. I managed to find the cabin filter door to hold it in, so have been waiting for this to arrive. I installed it about half an hour ago, so here's some pics of the filter, door and finished product:

Do'oh! Like I said, I can't keep it straight. I got it backwards, as always. Just like left and right, I always get those backwards lol. I'm going to replace my sways with larger ones... but the rear will be more of an increase than the front to help balance the over/understeer.

Interesting.... so you just had to find a filter and stick it in? The space was already there for it?
