OK, either I misread what you wrote, or you misread what I wrote, or you are confused about offset lol.

The center of the rim doesn't move. It can't. It bolts to the hub in the same place no matter what, unless you add spacers.

It is the outside lip/rim relative to the center that measures offset. I think this is what you said..... lol

    Here's a good pic:

So the stock wheels are a positive 40 mm, as shown on the left. Press whats 0mm offset, the middle wheel. So you see how the lip sticks out a lot more than the mounting point? Since the mounting point can't move relative to the car, the lip moves outward.

And that is why the wheel spokes bend out so much, because the center/mounting point has a 0 offset, and is therfore right in the smack center of the width of the wheel....

Just making sure we are all on the same page :)

Press. you are confusing the hell out of my buddy.lol First, its all good, i can find someone else to buy them. Second, you will be far far far from hellaflush without coilovers, so I dont really think the look you are going for can be described as hellaflush.lol hellaflush is all about custom wheel wheel fitment, not something generic like a tein drop (nevertheless, its not bad). If you dont want to scrape and whatnnot teins will work. but the XXR wheels will NOT fit. not at all. Dude, you gotta do some serious research of wheel measurements. start with what 205/40/R16 means and then learn what offset is. These are really important things to know before you buy wheels. i've recently learned about this kinda stuff so if you can find me a pic of what you want, I can tell you the sizes you need.

lol you just worded your post funny earlier gold, you made it sound like a +40 offset will make it 40mm wider than the stock tire lol. i'm sure we both know what it is, it was just worded strange haha. And I was gonna say wait for daniel to come in and explain it better press. And don't joke about wanting a certain style for your car in the same sentence as being serious about a certain kind of rim. It makes it too confusing to help when we don't know what you actually want. And as noted, tire diameter does not affect the rubbing, it's the width. You could squeeze in a 19 inch rim with a lo-pro tire and it wouldn't rub as long as it's tucked with a narrow ass rim lol.

haha, yeah I was reading my other post and figured I wasn't being clear, so I just wanted to make sure I was :)

So to clarify what I first said, the offset (40 or 0 or whatever) doesn't have anything to do with the overal width.

Oh, and I think what Corolla GT has done is perfect for the Corolla, there is no need to go any more extreme/low/poked/stretched/flush than that cause it's perfect :D

It depends on how low you wanna go. Sticking with the s-techs for a while? And if it's your daily driver, I'd go with some 16s, with a bit of a chunky looking tire, I'll find a pic of what I mean. You don't wanna go lo-pro, the ride is terrible if you aren't used to a lowered car. We're not tanking about MBslike you said you've been in, we're referring to $4000 Toyotas. lol. Just ask hummer how bad the ride was when he went 17s.

I'm sticking to tiens yeah. I highly doubt that I'd buy coilovers for the corolla lol unless I win the lottery

The problem is that you buy tires last in the process, after you find wheels (diameter and width matter) and of course the drop.

The ride was TERRIBLE, but only because my springs were cut so much i didnt have enough bounce in them, any pot hole i would hit sounded like my car was gonna blow, dont go by me, i just did it wrong. It was fun while it lasted but i got tired of the constant need to swerve to avoid hitting quarter size holes in the road. I would have definetly gone with 16s for a more comfy ride though.

Oh jeez, you cut the springs, no wonder the ride sucked!
Trust me, proper springs and or shocks makes a WORLD of difference.

You need to find rims first. It's easier to go from rims to tires than finding rims you like that have to fit a set of tires you already have. You can always get a good deal on tires later.

I'm sorry senior mack but you are slightly mistaken. The diameter of the tire totally has the potential of rubbing. In fact, thats the worst way I rub in my car. Of course that does depend on if you are tucking tires or not. I can tell you from experience that fitting 19' tires with 205/30's didnt fit, and those were the smallest tires I could find.

Thanks man :D , but I really think that some 205/40's with another 3/4in down, all the way, around would set me to my ideal height.
And Press you fool, get me a pic of what you want and I'll tell you what you need.lol like what style you like? like the stance you are going for?

alright here's some styles rims I like

as for stance well I want it to look aggressive so if needed I'll get some spacers.
I know my car won't be extremely low on just teins but I don't want to have to buy new tires every few months lol... they gotta last a good while hopefully that's possible.

Those wheels wont look good on a car unless its DUMPED. Other than that, if you like those wheels you beter be willing to pay out the arse. Especially since the first ones look like volks and the next two like bbs.

Read what I typed yo. lol
    :)

This. TE37's are a sweet ass rim, replicas or not. But on a moderately lowered car, it just looks strange. take a look at what Drag has to offer, they do replicas, so they are cheaper than what are posting, but they still look sweet. And since you were asking what size, definitely go with 16s, but as for tire width/profile, I'd still wory about the rims first.

Press, if thats the style you want then you are gonna need 17in rims, with some 15-20 millimeter spacers. depending on how much rub you want.lol 17 inch rims with 205/40 series tires and an offset of 20 milometers on a tien drop would fill in your fenders nicely and would avoid scraping for the most part. You are also going to want some camber bolts just in case you need camber. you wont wear your tires fast if you dont use too much camber. You would only wear out your tires faster if you use excessive camber or a bad alignment. example; 2 degree of camber kills 4 months of tires life. 3 degrees would kill a year of tire life, and so on....

According to the specs/stance you are having my run by, 205/40/R17 are the tires you are looking for.

Oh, i forgot to mention, 17 arent bad until you start cutting hella coils off your springs. So dont be scared, the ride isnt that bad. But its not THAT smooth (Cadillac smooth).

Im actually in a rush right now, but we can talk about stance, rims, your teins, and rim offsets later.

Ok jackass always with a negative remark... The Teins I got from Daniel were cut, I was just thinking that maybe you had those ones too. I have Neuspeeds in the front, but since you had cut Teins up front I thought it was a possibility. Jesus just asking lol
