let's not turn this into a honda/toyota engine debate/argument. I can see it headed that way. Everyone knows all engines can pull good except a stock 1ZZ. lol

I say lose the badge on the grill, cut the grill off behind it, tuck the mesh in farther. Back looks good though.

Yeah lol it means intake manifold stock ones are very restrictive that's why I was putting a 2zz manifold on my 1zz it'll make a good difference but I sold it to my boy with the 9th gen

Does the 2ZZ manifold mount right on to the 1ZZ engine or do you have to modify stuff?

dude your car looks great. you did a great job all around. the trunk looks a million times better shaved. may i suggest a trd badge for shits and giggles. also i agree with mack. lose the badge and the stock grille and get a nicer mesh and zip tie it farther back.
    Added: Jul 22, 2011 10:56 PM
also its purely just my opinion but lose the bottom grille all together and the eye lids.... idk how i feel about those, but if you really like them keep them :D

How much does he want to sell it for? And how many more horses will I gain from the upgraded throttle body?

He wants $300 for the entire thing Obo ... And I can't really tell you how much you would gain because I would be lying to you but I know you would be moving a lot better the 2zz throttle body can almost eat the 1zz one and the runners on the 2zz Mani are so much bigger than the 1zz one .. Put it this way people with hondas buy after market intake manifolds for a reason to gain power or they throw a type r IM on their gsr because they will gain power ... So yeah this is one of the few options we corollas owners have

Well let me talk to this guy. I'm interested. I learned a lot on google about our engines today, and your comparison between us and the honda boys really got me thinking. I really hope he can work out a good deal with me because im incredibly interested but I'd be stretching the bank really bad buyin the throttle body and the adapter. Perhaps just buy the parts slowly and build as I go. Question though: Is this like a direct direct bolt on? I dont wanna buy the throttle body and the adapter and find out that I have to throw down another 500 to get it to work properly.

i had the TRD grill badge on there but i removed it b/c i dont have any TRD parts. I even removed the S since my car is actually an LE lol. i think I'm going to do something about the grills up front since that's what you guys have mentioned. Thanks for the input!

Yeah well your not buying just the throttle body off of him it's the intake manifold(which is where the adaptor goes) to with sensors ... And yeah you could buy it stuff slowly because these manifolds are expensive and are hard to find so buy it when you find it you feel me ... And what type of intake you have on it now? And yeah it goes right on the only thing you have to do is lengthen the wires of the iacv sensor a bit which isn't a big deal an pretty easy as long as you buy the same color wire and have the right tools but the adaptor brings instructions Anyways

But its TRD cuz Its a toyota, I race my car and its constantly being developed.lol And i have quite a few things more to do. I promise to post some updates soon. :D Either ways your car looks sick. I cant wait to see it with the new grille.

lol * I'd be stretching the bank really bad buyin the throttle body and the adapter. * I meant that With the purchase of the adapter, Then i'd be stretching the bank seeing as Id be spending around 600 bucks. (thats a lot of money for me).
I have a custom intake I made for my car. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
lengthening wires shouldnt be a problem as I find myself doing that all the time with my electronics everywhere.lol

Well that's why you buy them at separate times And the set up you have now is perfect because you moved the battery so it won't be in the way nice !!! And that's perfect that you know how to lengthen your own wires so your pretty much set

Yeah the wires and moving some hoses around is the only thing you gotta do. Everything else bolts on once you get that adaptor.

The rear is looking good, shaving whatever you can usually works lol. The front, well I usually like emblems, but in chrome. But dude, you gotta ditch that license plate. And don't tell me it's illegal.... I've got mine off, and I've even tinted my rear plate lol.
    Added: Jul 25, 2011 2:27 AM
Or you could at least take off the front plate for pics
