Do something with the head/corner lights, I don't like how they don't match up. They're both clear, but the corner isn't actually clear, I'd color it.

Here's some pics of my Dad's 1993 Sprinter AE100 (facelift). He bought it a few weeks ago as a run-around car so that he doesn't have to get his main car dirty when it rains and to keep the mileage down (you can see where I inherited my fussiness from, haha). It's the highly spec'ed SE Limited model (same model as mine but in Sprinter form) and was built in Japan (JDM). It originally had a 5A-FE (1500cc) engine in it, but the previous owner swapped it with a 4A-FE (1600cc). The transmission is a 4-speed auto.

It shares the same chassis, interior, suspension etc as the Corolla, except the body panels are different. It's basically the JDM equivalent of the USDM Geo Prizm.

That's cool I can see the similarities to the Prizm that was sold here.

this may be a dumb question but why do car companies play around with the names and badging of cars? Its a geo prizm here and a toyota sprinter there...why not just keep it the same name all around? same thing with the look. whats with the minor differences in the front/rear of that version and the geo prizm version? im just really curious about all this

My guess is because people in different ountries want different looks for their cars, the companies do surveys and stuff regarding their models. And depending on the good or bad criticism, certain changes are made. Maybe as far as certain lights and little changes, I know every place has their own laws and reguations that they have to adhere to, so perhaps that causes slight devaitions in design. I'm just shitballing though, I really have no idea. My take on the naming of cars thing is that certain countries want to be known for a car maybe. Like "Hey I drive a Sprinter" you'd be like "Oh shit that guy must be in New Zealand, you know Scott, the OEM crackhead?"

I guess it's their way of getting a wider variety of vehicles. Chevy gave Toyota the Cavalier in return (which was NOT a fair trade I might add). Holden, who is also owned by Chevy, brought out the Holden Nova, which was just a re-badged 7th Gen Corolla. In return, Holden gave Toyota the Commodore, which was re-badged as the Toyota Lexcen.

In the Sprinter's case, there were a few noticeable changes that set it apart from the Geo Prizm. The first being the interior layout and the second being the tail lights, headlights, bumpers and grille. It's strange why the two companies even bothered to pair up, but I guess it worked as they continued to bring out Geo Prizms based on the JDM Sprinters for quite a few years.

Here's a shot I took about 10-minutes ago. Just happened to walk outside and saw a rainbow (was actually a double rainbow but the second one wouldn't fit in the frame), so ran inside and grabbed my camera. Didn't have enough time to grab my keys, push the button and unfold the mirrors so they're folded in the photo, haha:

That is true, I stand corrected. But you still might give him some false hope, which I would still find highly amusing.

Test fitted my front lip today. Needs prep work and painting, but it seems to fit well with no cutting required:
