Maybe I should really just get a TRD S/C its power is instant and runs all the time the engine is on. this ESCs suck but maybe i could buy the ESC dr.T told us and just install 2 alternators for it to run for a long time.

do the TRD supercharger still run with a clutch engagement? my friends 99 4-Runner has a clutch engagement which turns it on at 2500 rpm.

I'd go Turbo just because the S/C gains are not as great

someone should make like an 8psi electric supercharger or something...add more juice and bump up the PSI, interesting to try...or you could use htis to eliminate turbo lag by using hooking up the electric motor to teh exhaust section of the turbo and youll have lag free-ness of a weak supercharger along with the high end of a turbo. im not gonna volunteer my car tho lol

too bad this post died a while ago too

Electric Turbo = Dead Cause. It robs more power from your motor to pull the required amps from the alternator to turn the electric super charger then the super charger makes itself. I would not recommend it :)

Yeah I agree. I've been down that road of discovery. The only thing I would do to my corolla is n2o or turbo. thats it. don't waste time with anything else. buy a different car.

E-chargers are not worth the money. Its not gonna create any psi for you or at least anything noticeable enough.....however....I do remember seeing something about how they took a newer model Civic Si hatch and hooked up a leaf blower to it to see if something like that would actually work. It was done on a dyno so its not something they drove around with. The results showed that it gained like 30-40 hp or something like that...kinda crazy..

EDIT: Found it...i guess they used NOS too...

Facts about this demo (Sorry to poop on it :D)

    * The leaf blower used in this demo was gas powered; it probably had a 1 - 2hp engine on it. Have you ever seen a gas leaf blower in action? They produce an enormous amount of air flow in comparison to an electric model.

    * The leaf blower was not being powered by the car, if t was an electric leaf blower it would be pulling massive amps from the alternator and putting massive drag on the motor.

    * The car didn't have an air filter? If the leaf blower had to go though an air filter it would put significant drag and resistance on the air and reduce the dyno reading by quite a bit, if you are brave pull off your intake hose and filter and run open throttle body your going to notice some gains on the dyno also :) But your motor is going to suck in some shit also which isn't very good.

    * The leaf blower was not sucking air from the engine compartment so it wasn't picking up "Hot Air". They actually had the leaf blower far away from the car so it was sucking in the coldest possible air it could get. Granted if you had your filter in the right place of your engine bay and you were driving down a road the air around the filter would be significantly colder but I also believe this makes the test unrealistic.

    Bottom Line
If you want your car to sound like a Hoover vacuum, burn more gas and potentially damage the shit out of your motor with debris then by all means install a Gas leaf blower in your engine bay and splice off your gas line to power it. You will probably see some significant gains across the board. Get one with an electric start though so you don't have to pop the hood and look like a dip shit pulling the rip cord on your engine before a race :D But if you try the electric e-charger approach it’s going to fail. But the video was cool and I enjoyed watching the creativity involved but it was not realistic :D Also the NOS part of the video does prove something, NOS WORKS. Even without the blower toss some NOS into the mix and your going to improve your power so if you really want a cheap way to bolt on some HP then go for a NOS system that is like $300 - $400 which would probably end up costing you about the same as if you went down and purchased a brand new gas leaf blower :D
