    custom exhaust

I recently did some work with my exhaust... sorry I don't have a video yet.
I put on the OBX header, installed a flex pipe, put 2.25" piping the rest of the way and installed a Magnaflow muffler.

I ran into a couple issues

The OBX header I ordered had a hole for the 02 sensor that was far too small! I ended up cutting the bung off and torching the hole to make it big enough for the sensor. Once the 02 sensor could fit, I welded the bung back on.

The factory clamp that was used to fit the old cat and exhaust manifold together wouldn't hold the bulge on the header to the one on the cat. I ended up using 2 regular clamps and kind of crossed them.

Since Im not very good with a pipe bender, one of the bends in the pipe I made was a little off and made the last half of the pipe running down the car sit a little low. After I put it up, I used a torch to heat up the pipe a little and bent it so it would sit better.

The muffler was a whole other mess. The factory ones are big and bulky and I knew I wanted a Magnaflow for its deep tones. I ended up rigging this Magnaflow muffler to the same strap. It is finished but I am still want to work with the pipe which is still not the way I like it. The muffler sits a bit low and angled down slightly. Im going to work on the pipe so that the muffler sits a little higher (tucked in) and having it pointed slightly up.

It is rock solid as it sits which is making me put off fixing those last little kinks i have with it. Ill get a video up as soon as i can. It is pretty loud but has a nice deep tone.

Nice pickup man, funny thing is that I see a lot of those same hubcaps with the same scuffs on the same spot.

Nice Corolla. I like the clean de-badged look you've gone for. Looking forward to hearing what the exhaust sounds like. Should look even better once you tuck the muffler in a bit :). Good work.

I also put a reg. K&N filter in and cut out pieces of the box. I actually did this before i touched the exhaust and it sounded just like a short ram intake. It did make an improvement, noticeably in acceleration. Now that the exhaust is on, you really cant hear the intake.

miss the hissing sound from the intake on mine as well, now just hear exhaust. but its not like the exhaust sounds bad, so can't really complain.

I have a 5E-FE engine weapon R intake in my car...

why the 5e-fe one? cause it's longer the metal part, and I have it sucking from the well beneath the brake booster, I can feel that shit sucking when I'm driving around the highway

    Intake and Exhaust video

Sorry for the crappy quality... its an old video camera but it does the job. The sound quality could be better too but hopefully you all get the idea. There is a small leak in the flex pipe so at some point ill have to replace that part but Im in no rush. I hope to have the angles of the pipe and muffler fixed and the flex pipe replaced later this summer. For now this will do.
