Only in first gear? Maybe because the car doesn't get to idle between shifts. So I would have to agree with Rincon. Try spark plugs and wires, distributor cap(I don't know if you have one), etc.

Check your sources of ignition and injectors. Or is it a transmission hesitation as in you can hear the motor rev up while in gear, but no movement?

I second this. throttle body or just the pulley sticking? when your car starts moving in 1st gear, does it jerk at all? also does it happen more often when its cold and or wet outside or does temperature not matter?

True. Throttle body might be getting stuck. Try giving it a little more gas and let go of the clutch slower to ease into gear.

When does it hesitate? Right when you get on it, after slipping the clutch, after it fully engages, etc.? Does it do this in reverse?

Hesitation or misfire - sometimes they are hard to tell? Did you check for fuel and fire? Did you pull the plugs out and read them?

Intermittent problems are tough to diagnose, as you don't have too many tries to replicate conditions that cause the problem in the first place. Just keep at it and see if there is a definite pattern/events that cause the hesitation or make it worse.

there could be some hesitation in other gears but you may not be seeing it. A possibility. Its either that or possibly injectors? also any check engine light?

Because in 1st is the only gear that you go into gear with the car at idle. When you change gears, the engine shouldn't drop all the way to idle. I like to keep my foot on the gas slightly to get a smooth shift, so if its the throttle body you wouldn't see it in any other gear but first, right?

its not misfire ... and it doesnt happen all the time its mostly like when i pull out onto the road it just wont go then kicks in... but sometimes it does happen at lights too... when i got my new headers the o2 didnt match up with the ecu so ive had the check engine light on ...

i guess it might be injectors.. but idk

You have a bad feul pump. Google "Signs of a bad feul pump" and I believe you will identify with 90% of the listed signs......I know because mine does this too. Try to have at least half a tank of feul at all times. Besides that, there really isn't a temporary fix.

I just had another idea. could be tranny mounts going bad. if your tranny is shifting every so slightly, you will have similar symptoms. you may just be seeing it more while you are in first gear than other gears. Either way, if your symptoms keep getting worse, the tranny mount could be a higher possibility.

Also I don't really agree with folkenstrategos .. that you have a bad fuel pump. usually if its a bad fuel pump, you will be experiencing different symptoms.

Maybe the problem is the ugly paint job.
