    I heard he died on the way to the hospital, haven't heard if they're taking that whole event out yet. I know it's postponed until they do/can fix the track to make it safer.

    Apparently the day before his accident, he was talking to his dad on the phone, talking about how the track scared him. It was the second to last time he ever talked to his parents. The last was right before he went down the track. He said he was going to make them proud.

    That's creepy as hell. There's always some freaky shit that goes on before a crash or accident like that. At least he died doing what he loved. You can't really blame the fast track (safety precautions could have been better) or the athlete because pretty much every sport is about pushing yourself and your equipment to the edge (motocross and auto X for me) so something is bound to go wrong especially in an extreme sport such as luge. May he R.I.P.

    Yeah yesterday I read that he was relatively new to the sport, but when I posted that ^ I figured he was really good. Well the padding could have helped a little bit, because he didn't die instantly.

    if he's only been in it for 2 years he didn't deserve to be competing. i was watching interviews and a couple of them thought the track was borrowing now. they were will still hitting 90 mph at the line.

    i can say that because i have an opinion. i also think the people that go to represent a country other than where they are born because they have a parent from that country shouldn't be in the olympics. example is the Jamaican skier that is out of truckee that wouldn't be able to make the US team so he uses a loop hole to get in.

    You can get exp elsewhere not at the olympic level. There. Are world cups and various other competitions
