Spark plug question ??

When do you usally change your plugs ?? WHen you have so many miles on them or If there in your vehicle for so many months ??

usually I leave them on for like 2 years at a time... usually it's the spark plug cable that goes out on you first

ive changed them very few times. I had a problem in which i would lose acceleration, almost like a hiccup, and it was a bad spark plug. Also when i changed the ignition coils.

What kind do you use? I use platinum NGK.

me? stock, copper 2 spark NGKs

I use stock Denso plugs on my cars but the 98 takes a special non platnum plug . The reason I was asking cause my wife delivers pizza in her corolla and I usally chnage mine every 6 months ,,, I was just wondering if there was a special time you had to change them ...

I've used a BUNCH of sparkplugs, but this ones serve me best imho

YEa i did to try many others , then I just stick with the OEM Denso brand works the best for me

the FJ called for a spark plug change every 30k miles and the 4Runner calls for the change every 120k miles. the FJ didn't comes with anything special and when i did the 30k service i put iridium plugs. it really depends on the type of plugs you use.

Oh ok ... Thanks ...I'm just using the OEM plugs ... But 30k sounds good for me ... I think my wife does 6 or 9k in 3 or 4 months of driving .... I was replacing my plugs every 6 months but some times the plugs looked ok , So I'm trying to stretch out the change with out harming my motor or being cheap

Depends on type of plugs and driving conditions. The more stop go driving the sooner you will need to replace them. More of highway driving is less stress on them. Out work van is a little over 260,000 miles on original factory plugs! I couldnt believe it but its the truth. 75+ miles only on the highway every day.

I'm about to replace my plugs and wires. It's been about 25k and recently I noticed that I'm starting to lack acceleration below 2k rpm but get a "boost" when I hit 2k. Could this be caused by a faulty plug(s)?
