Windshield washer won't squirt no more

Hello All,

Long time since I've posted a real problem.....my wiper blades work, except the washer fluid doesn't squirt anymore. Where can I start troubleshooting on this one? I looked at the electrical contacts and they seem fine, is there anything else I can look for before concluding that the pump is dead??????

Fuse?

Does the pump motor work?

Is there washer fluid in the tank?

Are the washer jets clogged?

Dunno how to confirm if the motor works or not.

The washer fluid tank is full.

The washer jets are clean/unclogged.

where is the fuse/relay located for this? I couldn't find a name/tag for a fuse for the washer fluid motor on any of the fuse boxes.....

ive had this problem with mine too but its more like one squirts fine, other one just dribbles out, ive changes the actual piece many times, still no luck

Turn the ignition key to "On" (Accessories). Do not start the engine.

Open the hood. Have an assistant in the car operate the windshield washer while you are under the hood listening for motor noises. If you hear a motor noise but no fluid shoots on the windshield, it is most likely the pump or the hoses or jets are clogged. If you don't hear anything, then it is most likely an electrical problem; either washer motor is blown, its a fuse, or it is wiring.

If you can locate them, disconnect the wires from the pump motor and connect a test light, and have your assist operate the washer again. See if your test light comes on. If it does, then that means that electrical power is getting to the pump motor and it is probably defective.

Look in your owner's manual for the location of the fuse. I can't remember if it is under the dash or in the fuse box next to the battery.

Troubleshooting is a lot of trial and error and process of elimination.
