I'd jump on it right away. How old are you? you better call your insurance company first...

assuming you're an add on to your parents policy it might work out to add your parent as the primary and then you as an additional to save some money.

Well, no offense to anybody, but i see a lot of "BUY IT" comments probably 90% from non sport-bike riders.. First off its your cash, do what you feel like.

I have questions. Are you an experienced rider? a R6 is not what I would consider a starter bike. Hoping on a bike once or twice, or dirt 125CC bikes when you were 10 does not qualify for experience on a sport bike.

Bikes have 2 kinds of dangers.. EVERYONE driving on the road and a stupid and/or inexperienced rider..

I have been riding 2 wheels for 20 years of my life and sport bikes for 10 years until last year. Why? because I chose not to due to my children, and I have attended 5 funerals in the last 4 years of GOOD friends (one since I was 13 years old) whom some chose to be stupid and some casualties of bad drivers.

Good example: My buddy sold his R6 to an inexperienced 20 year old rider, one week later he T-boned a car that was making a legal right on the light, he was speeding, changed lanes in the intersection to the turning cars lane POW killing him instantly . Another known locally 20 year old jumped on the sportbike bandwagon bought a spanking new R1 from the dealer. Crashed 2 months later (into a tree, solo, on the side of the road) and was on lifesupport. He later died.

    If you buy it:
They are fun and the most FREE thing you can think of when you are riding.. great therapy down a quiet backroad.. Be careful, respect the bike, and keep a third eye on at all times for the idiot drivers who do not watch for 2 wheels.. PLEASE take a MSF course.

Sage advice. The question is Movie, do you have the experience to take on the R6? Here's what you need to keep in mind about the Yamaha 600's. The YZF-600R which is no longer in production was a sport bike, that leaned more toward the side of riding like a touring bike. IE: BMW. The R6 was a 600 that is basically an R1 with a smaller engine. The R6 motors. It does. Only 600 I've ever ridden that can powerwheelie (without the use of the clutch) and that power can get away from you. In current production year there are 2 models of the R6. The R6, and the R6-S (Street). The R6-S is the new 600-R, being that while it's still an R6, it's tuned down a bit, puts out a little less power and leans more toward sport touring. So keep those differences in mind.

Second thing. I'm a little out of date on my R6's but that does look like an '07. With 6k miles on a 2 year old bike that's getting asked $3000, the question you should ask is, "Are you desperate to sell, or is something else wrong with it?" Because that's a pretty hot deal on a fairly low mileage '07.

Third. I rode 14k miles in 2 seasons, never went down (though came close several times.) If you buy this: PAY. ATTENTION. If you scan the road 10 cars ahead in your rolla, scan it 40 ahead on the bike. Buy a helmet, buy a jacket, don't ride in shorts, and be smart. As it's been said, riding a motorcycle is amazing. If there was a place of true zen for me, it's a quiet canyon road in early fall and a motorcycle. It's a one of a kind thing, but life isn't all deserted canyon roads, so keep in mind that you're small on a bike, and people are fucking stupid.

    Shiny Side Up.

    :)

    very well said.

I also want to add that the first death in my dad's side of the family was because of a bike, an R6 to be exact. My uncle, around 30 lived his life well. He was into sports of every kind, was fit as a bull, and just started a family. Unfortunately he died riding his bike. He was riding with some friends. I dont know the details but they went for a 5 or so drive to the mountains and he didnt come back.

He lived his life well. Did everything he wanted... From scuba diving to triathlons (he was even featured on the newspaper). He just got married, maybe 2 years max. Left his wife and a kid, i think 3yo now...

If you are planning to buy the bike, just go through bike camps/training as much as you can and be safe.

Good man, that class saved my life a bunch of times my first year of riding lol... Just keep your eye out on craigslist for good deals, any of those too good to be true deals are definitely not worth looking at. For any questions ask me or ask DeebsTundra dude, I learned a lot from him when I started riding.

Me neither man, haven't seen Deebs in like 2 years, same with Vortex and DenverRolla. Novak333 is a good friend of mine so I see him frequently. It'd be cool to have rolla and bike owners around lol, best of both worlds lol :p

I just quit GrandPrix Motorsports, those people suck please never go there for anything for your bike... I believe DenverRolla is at Ford if I'm not mistaken. Deebs should still be at DIX out on Havana and I-70 and Vortex I am not sure, haven't talked to him in ages.
