    Its a supercharger and a turbo, so the supercharger can make up for the turbo lag of the turbo. Its like sequential turbos.

    because thats how turbochargers are powered... :superconf

    and this is nothing new. hks did this for the gze back in the 80s. 16v or 20v is a non issue, just different charge routing.

    I think that's just an illustration. If you look at the actual engine, the turbo is sitting beside the sc.

    i dont see where in the pictures the turbo is mounted at the rear of the vehicle, in fact there isnt even a vehicle pictured.

    but im sure youre aware of remote mount turbo systems..

    STS has the best rear mount turbo system. In fact, I think their setup for the Tundra requires a new muffler that includes mount locations for it.

    Does that STS system really work? What would be different if you were to try to make your own? the only thing I see is that it requires an oil pump to push the oil all the way back to the engine.

    This would solve the problem of finding a turbo manifold

    The STS is old news. I've been looking into it for the longest time. It works for sure, but 3000 for a base kit with no tuning or prefabbed pieces, it's not worth it.

    Twin charging has the supercharger as baseline all around power, while the turbo acts as top end. The Squires Turbo System is something else entirely.

    The s/c and turbo set up is similar to the sequential turbo set up that was in the Supra

    Yeah, almost the same. One turbo is replaced by the supercharger.

    I don't see why in hell anybody needs to twin charge an engine when the new generation of twin scroll and ball bearing turbos all but eliminates turbo lag.

    I'm still not seeing the advantage. if there was a big turbo by the engine and a small turbo by the exhaust and no sc, i can see how it could help or sc and big turbo by the engine only but from the little knowledge i know about these chargers and math and physics, with the current setup, i am imagining you can blow the engine pretty easily. I'm sure it will make some type of difference but only on a short term basis. maybe good for drag races? other than that, i think its just looks.. showing off by saying "look at me! i have more turbo's than you!"

    okay people that are confused...

    the drawings are not showing dual turbos, and they are not showing a remote mount turbo... they are just for reference in terms of how to route the charge air. they are not accurate representations of the actual placement of the items.

    and there are no sequential, twin, or compound turbo setups that have the turbochargers seperated by any significant distance... especially as far as one in the engine bay and another remotely mounted.

    It's just a simple (but retarded) twincharge setup, it has nothing to do with remote mount turbo. Just because the turbo is not mounted directly to the manifold doesn't automatically make it a remote mount turbo system. If that was so one could argue a WRX has a remote mount turbo because it has a uppipe.
