    For those who travel through VA

    Something I got in an email. I didn't believe it until I saw the links. This is new news to me. Never knew they had a law like this.

    yeah also a law here. didn't know about it until they started handing out tickets.

    yeah, along with 39 other states.

    This is just common sense and courtesy. Really.

    A judge will be lenient if you can show that you were unable to safely change lanes....and you can show that you did not have enough time to plan ahead to change lanes.
    A first offense is also NOT going to give you a 2500 dollar fine and 1 year in jail.

    Its similar to the HOV signs that say Up to 500 dollar fine, 4 points! in MD. In order to get hit with a 500 dollar fine, you have to be caught violating that law a certain number of times within a certain time frame.

    1st offense in MD, last time I checked, was 75 bucks I believe.
